req system and certification problems

Hi everyone, I was thinking. You know how when you get certifications for weapons you’re supposed to be more likely to get them? Like in that month of mythic spnkr prime req pack I spent hours trying to get? Well I think that the req certification system is truly broken. I think that 343 needs to do is instead of us gamers buying a packs and getting 2 permanent unlocks and then the usual uncommon-rare stuff every single time, depending on what type of pack you buy, why doesn’t 343 change it so you get a few legendary or legendary mythic req cards instead of those other req cards no one ever uses! What do you guys think? Do you agree that 343 should make this change to the req system?

In my time in unlocking every thing I only ever unlocked 1 higher teir req when I still had lower ones to unlock. I pretty much recieved every req in order of rarity.

Though after unlocking every thing I’m not getting a lot of basic ghosts or wasps.

I wouldn’t say I agree… but I don’t quite disagree. As I currently am, I have no need for really anything. I’ve completed my REQ collection as far as I can. I’ve been trying to minimize my Warzone play time and focus more on Arena. I also tend to be relatively conservative with my REQs. So, honestly, I wouldn’t really care if 343 made such a change.

The req system is so bloated I feel bad for newer players still grinding packs. The name of the game when it comes to the req system is unlock everything ASAP… Do the bronze, silver, gold method. When you concentrate on trying to get a particular req you will just get upset. Once you have everything unlocked and get req point refunds instead of unlocks it’s really easy to build a good req inventory with a lot of weapons and vehicles.

Very well said, the REQ system is flooded with literally hundreds and hundreds of REQs, I mean its great to have variety and lots to choose from but thats the point…the CHOOSE element has been taken out, you have to play slot machine RNG req packs instead of working towards a specific set of goals for different items and armors.

They really need to add wild cards to the req system so players can choose a req from time to time.

The REQ system can be very annoying when you don’t have everything. And when you do have everything, the good basic stuff (Ghost, Railgun etc.) become harder to come by. I by no means like the Halo REQ system, but I do believe it is better than most pack systems in FPSs these days.

If you want to get the REQs that you want, sell the stuff that you don’t really use that much.

When I sold a bunch of my REQs just to get the classic helmets, I’m now getting a lot more Arclights, Wasps, and Phaetons than I did previously.

Back in my day, emblems counted as part of the two certifications and there were no firefight commendations to rain us silver and gold packs.
If you have trouble do at least the firefight daily win and you get 2 packs for daily win which can give unlocks.
They buffed RP reward gain in general, so it surprises me people still complain about the req unlock grind.

It sounds like a good idea, as long as it’s a wild card depending on rarity, (legendary wild card, ultra rare wild card etc.)

I do sell many, many reqs to get silver packs. However, I get 2 common-rare permanent unlocks. Really what I’m trying to say is couldnt 343 add a system that after the permanent unlocks (armor, helmets, certifications) instead of getting warthogs and open hands no one ever uses, why no the give people better weapons/vehicles for the certs they already have?

Exactly. When I did the grind I had to sit through unlocking emblems and didn’t have firefight to just sit there and get massive RP payouts repeatedly with very little effort. Granted there are more items in the req system than when I finished my grind, but still, it’s pretty easy to build up RP now with payouts being so high. In a game of mythic with an ultra rare RP boost you can get 10,000RP in one game. Wish I could have done that. lol

I do feel bad for new players though. The only place they should be is arena or heroic firefight building a collection before they consider going into normal Warzone. It’s a total mess now. I’ve been seeing the vehicle cap get hit a lot here lately in games with randoms. It’s clear that a lot of people have a lot of everything and just spam stuff at will. I know I do. Oh no you lasered my banshee ultra? I’ll just spawn another, and another, and another. It doesn’t matter, I’ve got almost 100 of them. Oh no somebody took my nornfang, I guess I’ll have to spawn another and I’ll only have around 200 left. The point is a lot of us players that have been going since day 1 have basically unlimited use of reqs and for new people coming into warzone it must be a nightmare.
