Req store is a pay-to-win random mess.

Just gonna go on a limb and say its not pay to win. You do not have to pay for req packs. Grinding for req packs is very easy and takes patience. Spending money is for the lazy people or the impatient people. This is the same thing as the Reach store system to purchase armor. Gotta grind credits to buy cosmetic stuff right? A real pay to win is like Planetside 2, earning credits to buy better weapon takes forever and thats just one single gun, those weapons are required to unlock more stuff and god weapons in Planetside 2. I found it easier to buy the bundles for the weapons in that game. Here in Halo 5, I have grinded for everything. I have received almost everything. I actually don’t feel like playing it anymore since I almost have everything unlocked. My SR is 102. That shows my dedication of hours I have put into the game…

Pay2win in the strictest sense would not fly in todays games.

Reqs arent then pay2win. what they are are in-game advantages that can be purchased to bypass time. this is mobile gaming in a AAA console title. Its a “progression” system skin overtop a revenue source.

it great that 343 is offering content for free. its not great that the req system has eaten up so much development time that could have been spent elsewhere.

at least the system doesnt feel burdensome. its a travesty, but not completely onerous.

[deleted]

you are dumb its get better at the game then win

There is a system to it, and if you look carefully online, or just observe and read everything carefully you’ll get them, I just unlocked the gause wort tonight, and a legendary visor also, it’s a grind, but a decent one, and not an easy one either compared to others and not out of reach. As for paying to play, you have to be kidding me, You got DLC in December for FREE~~~!!! other titles charge up the wazoo for dlc, and it was nice to see that for a change, besides the money goes to Championships.

I feel like the REQ system can’t be classified as anything other then putting halo on a street corner at night.

No, you are not. I get matched with very low level people all the time who dont have much of anything. When I was first starting I would get matched against people who were 70+ levels above me with everything unlocked. You do not get matched with people with similar -Yoink- to you.

it’s not pay to win. But is pay to unlock everything before people who don’t use money. But is way more fun unlocking everything with req points. You may never have everything but you’ll have a lot of stuff. Enough to keep you playing warzone and still call a lot of reqs in every game

I’ve played games where the other team beat us and they didn’t even use heavy vehicles. It was just a team of players with mics.

I’m constantly selling tanks, hogs, rockets, snipers, and power ups for silvers.

Pay to win? Nah, you can’t even use the goodies if you don’t have the skills to get the kills anyways.

This horse has been beat to death, resurrected, & then beat again.

I seriously hope you’ve come to your senses OP. If not, then enjoy Reach.

Even if I could afford to spend infinite amounts of money on req packs, I would be too insulted that you are asking me to pay for something and not telling me what it is. It’s an idiotic business model. If you are going to ask us to pay money, or spend hours earning req points, at least let us have some say in what we’re getting.

> > The other problem is that it’s pay to win. I didn’t mind Paying 5.00 for permanent weapons and upgrades because it saved me time and frustration playing against players who may already have them while I try to earn the credits to afford them. It didn’t feel like cheating because everyone who doesn’t pay money could earn them permanently by playing the game, and eventually catch up. It also put me on a level playing field with the people who had been playing since long before me. Since req cards you earn in Halo 5 are only temporary, there’s no “catching up.” People who spend money on the game are always going to have a leg-up on the people who have to play for hours to get the same stuff.

Let us choose what we buy, or at the very least, narrow down the randomness with different categories (gold/silver vehicle req pacs, gold/silver weapon req packs, power up req packs). And don’t make them cost so many damn req points that we barely get to use them without paying real money.

Also opening reqs results in random unlocks but there is a method to do it where you can unlock pretty much everything relatively quickly. I have 4 days on the game and I have pretty much all the common, uncommon, and rare reqs. Next I’ll start with gold and I know I’ll be getting good unlocks each time.

You’re an idiot, an therefore missed one of my main points, which is that vehicles have always been part of what makes halo fun, and now the really good ones are a RARE LUXURY.

No, it’s not a progression system because you lose what you buy after you use it. There’s no “catching up” for non-paying players, like in games like Nosgoth, or NOVA 3. People who pay more money will always have more game changing items than people who don’t. Idiots who can’t see how screwed up this system is are either fan-boys who can’t admit their could be anything wrong with a Halo game, or rich little punks with infinite access to mommy and daddy’s credit card. Screw you guys for defending this garbage.

Before I started buying req packs with money, it didn’t take me terribly long to unlock mongoose, gungoose, ghost, scorpion, and a few warthogs. I also unlocked the ghost ultra early on. Took me awhile longer to unlock wraith and banshee, but I would still get them in my inventory even without the cert.

Just keep playing, you’ll unlock stuff. And if you don’t, then you will never have to deal with the frustration of having your Corp Scorpion destroyed before you can take out a single enemy.

P.S. Even after paying $$ there’s lots of powerful stuff I have not unlocked.

> 2533274816788253;22:
> Let’s see you don’t have to buy reqs you can get them with credits through game play so explain why it’s pay to win? I have never bought one req pack and have won war zone games so how is it pay to win again? It’s pay if you are to impatient to unlock all the digital content that doesn’t mean or get you anything any ways…

So if I put in 4+ hours of multiplayer warzone time vs someone who drops $100 instantly I am clearly at a disadvantage. They easily have access to more weapons, vehicles, and permanent unlocks than me. Now times that by a team of 12. I better hope I have a team who’s put in serious hours, or they have a large bank account. pretty much 343i is forcing me to 2 options. 1) I have to play against odds at the begining to earn REQ points to use in later battle to stand a chance (pretty much forcing me to lose) or 2) forcing me to buy REQs to stay with the crowd to be at least competitive.

Don’t get me started on playing against sponsored players (yes they exist).

Am I more inclined to use my 1 Norfang that I’ve spent hours and hours grinding to get that last 100 points in Warzone? Probably not. Somone who can throw several dozen REQ gold packs in the mix and have quite a few at their disposal will use a Norfang when knowing they won’t finish the match with it. Why? because they didn’t earn it their wallet did.

in the end its all about who you value your time.

Time spent playing is far more valuable than $$ spent on req packs. The fancy toys are useless if you dont’ know how to use them.

I’ve spent well over $100 on req packs and I still haven’t unlocked any legendaries. I have a single Oni Rocket warthog in my inventory, but no cert. No Nornfang, no Phaeton, etc.

OK, so maybe some players have invested $$$thousands into the game to unlock everything. Bottom line is, gear does not equal talent. Also, the energy system prevents you from having a Nornfang every spawn even if you have a hundred in your inventory.

A player who throws down huge bucks might have the luxury of using a Nornfang or other legendary every game. That by itself is a negligible advantage for the team. So again, it isn’t pay-to-win, it’s pay-to-have-a-little-more-fun.

You don’t have to pay. Plus I don’t get why it is bad to have to play the game and work towards collecting the items. Isn’t that in like…every video game ever? Why would we expect a video game to just give us what we want? What would be the point then? Plus you can easily win if you don’t have that stuff yet, I’m sure people on your team do. I hardly ever get to use anything good on my reqs. I pull out a weapon and get shot. I pull out a tank and instantly get someone blowing me up. And yet without me using them, we still win.

You pay for better stuff but you will lose it on a second if you lack skill.

Hmmm sorry for calling you out on your BS but how the hell do you know what cards someone has or doesn’t have? I have ultra ghost I never use? So please do tel where you get to see other ppls deck?.

what card they get to use. Is up to them how do you know it wasn’t a random weapon or vehicle

HCS prize pool would suggest Req store is wildly successful. Bye Felicia.
