so I watched and read the details about the system, but there was one thing I could not figure out, it says you can discard things you don’t like for points and buy other things, I know that, but can you use those points to buy specific things like a weapon skin or helmet cough* cough* HellJumper… or can you only by other packs and hope to get lucky.

You can only buy packs and hope to get lucky
From the info they’ve released in the blog, packs are the only things you can buy at the moment. Individual cards aren’t an option it would seem just yet.
Perhaps down the line they will add something similar to the Black Market in Titanfall where they have rare exclusive items for sale along with daily deals.
I really hope you can pick specific things like armor (I just want my GEN2 Mark VI) but nothing has indicated that so far.

if it was like that, wouldn’t be as funny as opening packs like a boss, and get lucky at it.

Not to mention things like rarity will mean nothing if you can just pick what you want.

Nope. It’s already been specified as luck of the draw. Which is kind of the point of the REQ system. Or card games, which it’s based on, in general. Though of course some may be achievement based like how MK VI gen2 was unlocked via beating the game on legendary.
I’m wondering how much these packs are going to retail for? Not that I will purchase any other than the ones in C.E. 
I’m sure if you play enough, you’ll get what you want, but yea you can’t buy individual cards. I like the idea of something like Titanfall’s Black Market showing up eventually.

I guess that is true, it would kill the fun, I mean they could do something like sell normal things but change it every week, but only sell a special one for like 1 week a month.
I just want to say that I am not trying to sound like I don’t want to play, or am to lazy, I do find lots of joy in unlocking this kind of stuff so I am happy with how i t is, I was just curious if it were something or not.
