I am sure 343i and -Yoink!- had a team of physiologists working on the best way to get gamers to pay for req. packs. I think they got it just right.
I have been trying to build up req points for the last couple days, and it goes just slow enough that I almost need to spend money. My willpower is waning.
2 or 3 warzone games for a gold pack I find, sometimes 1 if I have a good RP boost.
Fast enough for me.

Stay strong.
The weekend playlist starting later today has “increased XP rewards,” so you might want to give it a shot.
do you earn more req points at higher levels?

You earn more for being good, I think. I’ve been getting 2350-2600 per warzone game from the start, I don’t know if that’s OP’s experience but that means a few games, sell some stuff, Gold pack.

This.
I just play Warzone. I usually get a Gold pack every half hour or so.
You’ll also find as you keep playing and getting more certs you’ll build up plenty of your favourite weapons and vehicles and also have plenty of ones you don’t use to sell, at the moment I’m finding after a gold pack or two, a few SR and commendation packs I can sell around 5K worth of reqs, sometimes more.
I think it is fine. Don’t want to blow through everything in 2 weeks

I warzone match takes 20 min… Doubt u get golds every half hour…
Just play a couple Warzone matches and then you’ll get a gold pack. I do notice that it takes absolutely forever to get a gold pack if you’re playing swat.

How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?
They used this from an economic standpoint Angry Joe estimated it would take around 600 HOURS to get all the cosmetics without buying Gold packs. Essentially EVERY player is going to buy a couple Gold Packs simply because they wont get anything good without them. Enjoy you’re new “Halo”
2300 req points in a 21 minute warzone game seems extremely slow to me. Best case is a warzone assault, if you defend the first stage. 6 minutes 1000 req points.

Um I’m pretty sure most people wanted that. If you want to get everything in a game it should take hundreds or thousands of hours. I haven’t bought or been tempted to buy any. Plus Angry Joes complaints about halo 5 were dumb. It doesn’t take that long to get a gold pack.

That’s just a load of bull mate.
I haven’t been spending money and I have certs in and regularly receive Scorpions, Corporate Scorpions, Ultra Ghosts, Snipers, Hailstorms, Talons, Incineration Cannons, Whiplashes, to name just a few - these are some of the best vehicles and power weapons in the game and In only SR34. I also have several BRs, ARs and DMRs, including bayonets, long barrels, silencers and kinetic ammo.
This is within a week of buying the game and without spending real money - all of these fall into the category of “good” things I got without the need to spend money.
As as for taking 600 hours to unlock all the cosmetics - GOOD! Cosmetics are completely aesthetic and don’t influence gameplay anyway so that’s not a negative point, and a huge fault with cosmetics in previous Halo games has been seeing the same -Yoinking!- armour over and over and over again because it takes no time at all to unlock most of it, rendering cosmetic customisation in previous games completely pointless. Oh look, that guy has Hayabusa. And that guy. And that guy. And that guy. How unique.
Having said that Angry Joe is absolutely awful at Halo and would naturally not be a good example of how long it’d take someone who was half decent to unlock a gold pack.
once again, it takes me two or three warzone games, sometimes a single game if I have a good boost to work with. It works out to a gold pack every hour or so maximum. It really, really isn’t that time consuming to get a gold pack with points.

Maybe that’s better but 2300 plus selling crap works out to a gold pack an hour, which is nowhere near slow enough to say that it’s so slow you have to buy packs with real money.
It takes me about 3 Warzone games for me to get enough to buy a Gold pack. Not too bad. Just wish I would get a DMR certification already though lol.

It takes about 30 minutes MINIMUM to finish 3 Warzone matches. So Angry Joe is off by about an hour considering the length you will also spend watching the beginning cut scenes, after game lobby and queue for matchmaking. An hour for one Gold pack(or 2 silver) is still a massive amount of time, which I agree I enjoy spending my time unlocking that massive library of armor. BUT it still doesnt change the fact that it is random and I have received about EIGHT “different” Warrior Helmets. You know Warrior the one that is DEFAULT for Halo 4…talk about variety.

However, when you start to unlock upper level rewards you can get up to legendary bonuses which will definitely help your RP collection from each game.
