i know your probable mad and hate me for bringing this up but req packs could be useful. like in halo 5 after how completing games helped you earn req point that could be kept and used to get req packs, but instead of just spending them on packs to get armor they could be used to get req certifications like weapons, vehicles, armor mods, boosts, and more and the armor could have something closer to reach where you u rank up and earn crt to get armor. what do u think plese feel free to give me your thoughts

343i confirmed no loot crates, REQ packs are loot crates and I’m very happy to see the back of them. The rng nature of them makes them a no go for me. I’ll avoid any game with rng and loot crates.

I don’t know what you mean honestly. Are you saying you want to keep the REQ points from H5 and convert them to CRs for Hi or something? Or are you saying you want a similar system were you get credits after every game? But that’s a given… And if you want REQ packs and certifications back, let me just say that I’m not a fan of those systems and I don’t see any advantage from a gamer perspective in having them frankly!

Nether Realm said that too a while back. They claimed gamers hate paid lootboxes and the rng. NR knows and they don’t want anything to do with it. Needless to say that made me beyond happy! Luckily for me I NEVER pre-order and avoid day one purchases, thanks to that I also avoided buying MK11 - *aka the worst smartphone like rng grind fest I saw yet in the triple “A” gaming market.*Technically speaking, they apparently don’t have paid lootboxes though! Long story short, I would wait with the champagne bottles… We might get “yoinked” still.

Totally agree. I was going to quote MK11 to the OP too. I didn’t have time though. So yes, 343i have stated no loot crates, and so have EA with Jedi, but like you I will not pre order, and I’ll wait. MK 11 also does not have full store and it’s entire economy available, they’ve withheld it for the review period, I also didn’t get MK 11 and won’t. Delopers and publishers are turning many against them, let’s hope 343i set a better standard, but no pre order here, I’ll wait until all is revealed.
Forza kinda has this system. You can save up to buy a specific car or get loot boxes for random prizes. I don’t mind it that much in that game but I think for Halo I’d want no loot boxes, as far as cosmetic unlocks go.

I’m saying like in halo reach and 5 to keep a the point system but it could be invested in armor or reqs ok get weapons and certifications

So what your saying is that instead of buying packs with req points we should spend it on the stuff we want. That’s basically the Reach credit system to the T

In other words you want the CR grind based Reach system, but with purchasable RNG lootboxes (in other words REQs), weapons and certifications put on top of it, right? Replace that H4/5 era garbage with skill based unlocks and I’m on board!

I would not want paid loot boxes to return, if they do ? I don’t buy Halo Infinite. I’m happy 343i have stated they won’t be in Halo Infinite, but I’m keeping my expectations in check, we have been deceived by gaming companies too many times.

Ya
I wouldn’t mind reqs packs returning if warzone comes back but there are important things that need to be addressed with it, specifically not having armor, or any cosmetic/permanent items locked behind a random reward system. that kind of stuff should not be random. they need to be for warzone and warzone alone so weapon, power ups, and vehicles.
I’d really like warzone to return but I’m worried about how it’ll be approached if req packs aren’t in infinite. they could just put weapons and vehicles on the field and most spawners would spawn a random weapon from a set like bosses which would be totally fine but then there’s the chance where people use req points to buy specific reqs like rocket launchers and tanks which is straight up the worst possible thing they could do and would ultimately kill off warzone. that kind of stuff needs to be randomized. they can add a skill element like higher ranks have a better chance of getting tanks or whatever but still randomized. might also help if half the reqs weren’t blatant upgrades like nornfang.

Ya I totally agree

I don’t see how fixed spawn points without RNG would be a problem frankly. An Invasion Slayer mode in Reach did something similar and it already worked better than Warzone imho.
If the mode returns instead of REQs I would use phases and team points. There are fixed weapon and vehicle spawns on the map, but get better and more choices after every phase. Conquered bases on the other side need to be upgraded by using CR you earn while fighting and capturing objectives (or killing bosses or both based on the mode). With every upgrade you get better defenses like turrets, more friendly AI, traps…, as well as a garage with more choices and a limited amount of PW spawn points.
The upgrade level of a base and the game phase you’re in also determinate the layout you can respawn with - which you choose while being dead and is not personalized. Because balancing is a thing that actually exist without randomization, and if something doesn’t work, puff! It’s gone or changed in the next update!
I don’t know you, but this sounds a hell lot more fun to me than classic Warzone in H5!
REQ points will most likely still exist but to buy armor pieces with.
Req pack systemis OK it really just needs some refinement, by refinement I mean no random luck based system.
While I never hated the Req system, I do feel it was extremely unnecessary and caused more harm than good on people’s standpoints for Halo 5. It was just another nail in the coffin to solidify their dislike for the game (the campaign was rough from the get go and needed a serious overhaul from what we got…).
I think they should steer away from loot crates altogether; considering Halo: Infinite won’t even have them, it’s likely they may keep it that way for future games.
I just want the same system of halo reach ranks and stuff like that return but maybe change something about it I did not like the req packs in halo 5 and hated what halo 4 was doing.
