Req packs definitely a bad idea

I personally think that adding micro transactions to halo is a bad step straight away but it could have been better to have unlocks exclusive to them and have the rest of the unlocks done by progress (such as dlc armor in halo reach like recon and elite officer). That I woul mind, but the fact that they’re taking inspiration from EA by having random rewards is a big middle fingers up to fans. Earlier today, while on arena, there was one player at SR30 with normal recruit armor and another at SR3 with goddam HELIOSKRILL. It’s unfair that your rank means nothing as you unlock by handing over money to Microsoft, but doing so doesn’t e guarantee unlocks: you could throw away nearly £500 and unlock nothing you like where someone else gets a legendary first try. Random Reward is an INSULT to players. I don’t care how long it takes, I’m going to unlock some decent stuff without handing my money over. I bought a nearly £400 Xbox one for this £40 game which is charging even more money. Seriously Microsoft, wtf?

So you want REQ gone and progressional unlocks added, but you scrutinize a low level player for having Helioskrill? You do realize majority of people with Helioskrill got it from TMCC right?

My apologies, I didn’t know armor could be unlocked through the mcc as I don’t actually have the master chief collection. I find it a good thing that low level players are able to unlock stuff without having to put ridiculous amounts of time into it, but it was just how with a much higher ranking player in the same match with default armor (they could have chose that over anything else) makes it feel like rank means nothing anymore. It’s flimsy I know.
The reqs are a good idea, and add something new to halo, but the idea doesn’t really sit well with me that one person can just buy loads of them and reap the benefits and skip the process of working hard to earn the points needed to unlock them along with the fact that apart from achievements in the mcc, it is the only way to unlock armor. If armor was unlocked primarily through progression but with extra content exclusive to req packs, it would feel more like effort paid off more. I enjoy the req system, but I think it would be better without paying an extra £2.39 a piece as a way of speeding things up.

Yep, And REQ’s are awesome

If REQs allow 343 to produce free DLC maps, then I do not give two -Yoink- about any armor unlocks. The division in a community after even the first round of DLC maps is always terrible.

I wish there were still Achievement exclusive armor that you cannot get via REQs.

I like REQ’s. You play, you earn points, you spend points, you get cool stuff (usually). I don’t see a problem.

i want your luck… i play, i earn points, i spend points, and am usually disappointed in the stuff i get… admittedly i want very specific things, so when i don’t get them i am disappointed- just setting myself up for this

I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad idea itself, the problem is just that almost EVERYTHING is only obtainable through the req system. That just makes it feel too simple to me and I can’t do specific accomplishments to get specific items, which I would do a lot in h4.

Only complaint I have is that basic loadout weapons need to be unlock. Everyone should be able to begin with the 5 main loadout weapons. Cosmetic unlocks are trivial and legendary unlocks usually only come into play near the end of games.

Its all based on how microtransactions are carried out, and I really feel like this system is a great idea.

REQs are clearly a bad idea, but 343 will just tell you to shut up because “grown-ups are talking”.
