Hello fellow gamers.
I am wondering as to what your opinions are on the REQ pack system we have in place?
I hate it, I cannot unlock my armour I have to get a lucky drop. People say “yeah well you have to work you way up, buy bronzes buy silvers etc.” It’s a Halo game, not an RPG, I shouldn’t have to grind points AND packs to unlock that single helmet I want.
Reach had a really good system.
I think the whole idea of REQs has ruined the game for me anyway.
The packs are so diluted with random stuff (because 343 want to control everything you can’t even make your own emblem.)
At this point I wish they’d just hand the franchise over to a more competent company.
I miss my unlocks, I miss infection, I miss my piece by piece customization and being able to choose separate colours for my custom emblem.
Rant over… Sorry
what do you think of the REQ packs?
Also level 67 and I still don’t have a DMR
I love req packs
They remind me of the unlock systems in battlefield or plants vs zombies gw or supply drops from CoD

And those systems were just as worse.
Definitely prefer the Reach system, if they had allowed us to unlock certain things as we reached Tiers I’d be ok with that. Something like reach Tier 2 and you can purchase a Rocket Launcher cert, reach Tier 4 and you can purchase a High Five Rocket cert. So as you rank up you can buy more powerful and higher tiered weapons.
This being said I think they wanted to get away from the experienced based unlock system because it does lock out players who either don’t have much time to play or are worse than others, but it really hasn’t worked because the higher stuff is still locked until you get most of the lower stuff out of the way.

Works well in Battlefield and Cod because you don’t just unlock things that way. You get in game unlocks. There is no other way to get things other than in REQ cards which I dislike heavily.
I don’t mind the req system.

Exactly! Reach probably had the best system for armours. I just wish there were other ways to get things other than cash grabbing REQs
I personally like the REQ system. However, I wish they would combine the Reach system with the current one. By that I mean you could either spend the points on a pack like you can now, or could save them up to get a guaranteed item of your choice like in Reach. Also, I got my first DMR at level 63. Now I’m a level 67 and have 7 of them. It’s weird how that works.

This could work, so you have a dual system where we can buy a specific item for a very high price, or gamble on getting it along with other things for a lower price. Also you would need to reach that weapon tier to make it eligible for purchase so people couldn’t just grind for a couple days after launch or purchase and have some of the top weapons and vehicles.
It’s a monetization scheme and a blatant one that. Completely screws with any sense of progression because grinding out six warzone games got me four AR variants. Rather than any skill being involved I just rolled some dice and got lucky.
Hate it. It’s extremely grindy, and bloated with pointless clutter (emblems, armor skins, like at least fifteen slightly different variants of each loadout gun).
Honestly? I would sign a petition to have 343i removed from Halo, and a company that knows what its doing put in.
Because it is obvious they don’t know what they’re doing, and so they use Halo as a cash cow.
we had only color options really up until H3 and then that was an add on. If it goes back to that or goes req style in the future it’s fine. Personally i’d like reach level customization to return.
