REQ Pack Exclusivity and Artificial Update Padding

So most of the REQs for MoR have been revealed. I was excited to see what 343 would bring to the table as this update sounded the most promising. We get Stasis the Torque “remix” (I use the word remix lightly because it looks like exact Torque design with some snow), Infection (Finally, its only been 7 months), The brute plasma rifle, what looks like Jorge’s turret, a mystery item, some emblems, 5 Azure weapon skins (that literally look like blue steel with green pinstripes), Every weapon skin from the Spartan’s armory REQ pack (minus the 343 skins), The noble team armors (awesome), a purple visor (that looks no better or different from the others), and finally stances/ assassinations.

While the UI updates, weapon tuning, and forge items are much appreciated, the REQs in this update are underwhelming to say the least. This is where the title comes in.

The Spartan’s Armory REQ packs gave off the impression that by purchasing, (with RP or $$$) would be the only way to unlock these skins. As it turns out, spending nearly 400,000 REQ points was a complete waste, when I can now spend maybe half that or less to get them all (minus the 343 skins). On top of that, instead of created more Reach inspired content (or even new, unique content) 343 decides to artificially pad this rather lacking update. It is a slap in the face to everyone who shelled out the RP or cash to get these skins, and even more so to those players that grinded hours upon hours trying to unlock them, thinking that it was the only opportunity to do so.

This string of logic is shocking. 343 did the same with Helioskrill and now these skins. Why do I have the feeling that Achilles is next?

The Spartan’s Armory REQ packs are the last ones I will worry about getting while they are “limited time deals”. As I know at some point I can get them in an update. In which these updates are literally just things that were pulled from the game in development to pad the updates.

What do you guys think of this?

  • The Spartan armory pack was an obvious rip of unless you wanted the ugly 343 skins, why people brought them in the fist place is beyond me. - The Azure skins are a bit pointless, not because here bad but because they are so similar to what we already have. - Infection is good - Plasma rifle is good - If it is a chain gun then that will probably be good - The bug and UI fixes will also be good

Shady business practices. While they didn’t explicitly say exclusive, some customers assumed it because of previous limited time packs. I was one of those that assumed, but I won’t again with this company.
