So I havent been on the forums in a while so I haven’t gotten to share my biggest frustration about the mode, that being the fluctuating difficulty due to uneven REQ leveling. Sometimes I enter round 3 at level 6 REQs and sometimes I enter at level 3 REQs and its because of how the REQ levels are handed out. If Round 1 has you kill 100 grunts for example, your REQ level will sky rocket while if it requires you to quickly splatter two soldiers with a warthog it will barely move. This causes later rounds to be unbelievably easy or extremely difficult without any real rhyme or reason. Each time you play you never know if youll be stuck fighting phaetons with tanks or BRs and that really hurts the mode.
This also causes inexperienced players to very often screw over an entire team. This happens because inexperienced players (yes Im looking at you level 2 scrub from Halo 5’s free to play week) will see that the objective is to kill two easy bosses on round 1 and will go right for it, trying to earn the “speed bonus.” This only causes issues though because the only way to earn sufficient REQ levels is to kill as many of the non objective enemies as possible before taking out the bosses.
Many times I have started round 3 only to realize my team flew through the first two rounds and are now screwed due to the lack of power weapons and vehicles. This causes a drastic fluctuation in difficulty and can be extremely frustrating. No one likes defending an orb in the middle of the map from 15 knights or shooting down 4 phaetons after only just unlocking BRs. Its truly frustrating being limited to 3000 clips of BR fire into one of the two warden eternals and not being able to call in rockets or tanks or something useful. Based on the first two rounds your team will either solidify its ability to win or its ability to lose by how high your REQ level becomes. If you reach scorpions and The Answers by round 4 youll probably win while if you enter round 4 with level 5 REQs you are hardly given a chance at all.
My recommendation for 343 is to make REQ levels fixed to a round.
Level 1-2 REQs for Round 1
Level 1-4 REQs for Round 2
Level 1-6 REQs for Round 3
Level 1-7 REQs for Round 4
And Level 1-9 REQs for Round 5
This way the FF development team can build encounters off of the expected REQs and more accurately create battles that are actually possible. This will also allow for players to form strategies based off of what they can count on for the next round.
Thoughts?
No matter what round you have, it depends on you and your team how many enemies you’ve killed.
Even if you get the round to kill one boss - you can go straight for it or you can spend those 4 minutes killing enemies to grind your REQ level up. Well, if you go straight for the boss, you might regret it later on however, like you said, because you miss your higher REQ level. But, it’s completely YOUR team’s fault for rushing.
No one is forcing you to rush. You have over 4 minutes for each round, you don’t need to complete them under 1 minute.
Your choices, your consequences, Spartan.
You can only blame yourself… or your Fireteam Leader.

Can we blame the leader of all Fireteams tho?
Jk jk… Don’t fire me please, Commander.
Anyways i have to agree here. The only thing you get from speeding through rounds are those small XP/RP boosts at the end of the match. If you want the sweet REQs taken into battle, you need to put a few more bullets into the regular enemies. I’ve been quite lucky to get out of Round 1 with REQ 4 because i just fight to achieve it. Mind you it’s not ALWAYS possible to do that seeing as it depends on the enemies you face.

Yeah, I agree. The Speed Bonus is a tiny one, you rather want to boost your REQ level through the rounds rather than speedrun them.
It isn’t always possible, however - most of the time, it IS.
While this idea is good, in theory, I think many issues with Warzone Firefight would be fixed if people weren’t so… Utterly bad at the game. To all those people who run around in a Mongoose or Scout Warthog in the late stages of the game, what on Earth are you thinking? How is that going to help anybody at all???
