So, I have been playing Halo 5 since launch and I have only got to try my DLC gun, like 3 times, for a matter of 30 seconds, to a minute. I have the Recon Assault rifle with bayonet and holo-scope and another one of the same with the default projection scope. These are REQ 8??? What the heck for? Yet I can go and choose a fuel rod at REQ 5 and spam the spire and fortress, taking out mobs of people left and right. Or get a sniper rifle at REQ 6 and pick people off like fish in a barrel. Heck, even the super-zoom version of the BR is more overpowering than this assault rifle. Assault rifles are pretty much only starter weapons, and emergency back up weapons. Nobody gets to try these things and there is simply no reason for some of these REQ levels. Missions often end right at REQ 7, in most cases. If I was in a mission where REQ 8 was attained, it was for the final seconds.
I agree, the req increment requirements should be a little looser
I’m fine with the current req system. Some of those start-out weapons are absurd, and the advantage would be far too great for early call ins.
I agree that 8 is a little high, but the bayonet is a one hit kill so I think it should require at least 5 or 6. I have the SMG with a bayonet which unlocks at 8 too, so I know the annoyance of not having much time to use the weapon.
