REQ farming is a thing?

So apparently people play certain game types, even though they do not enjoy them just because they are fast REQ points? Am i hearing this correctly?

example: i’ve heard that warzone assault is the fastest REQ point method in halo 5, and some people actually play it just to get those req points, not for fun…

can someone explain to me why this is a thing, as opposed to playing the game for fun, and unlocking your cute armor at a little bit of a smaller pace? Or do these players plan on playing for fun when they have 100% completion? I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if these people just quit halo when they finish REQ’s, saying “well, im 100% done with completion after playing this game i do not enjoy after 10 days of gameplay!”

please someone, tell me this is just me seeing things, and this isn’t the case.

yup. casuals will be casuals.

you’re a SR91 and NOW you’re noticing this?

Yes.

The only reason I play War zone is for the REQ’s because that os what happens when you lock all cosmetic items behind RNG and a grind for points.

It’s either that or fall into the scam of paying real $ for virtual items on a AAA game.

i don’t talk to people much while playing, so nobody says anything to me as well. and when i am talking, the conversation isn’t usually about playing for REQ points… so no

so cosmetics > gameplay?

It’s true, and it’s nothing new to Halo 5. For decades there have been games that encourage farming where the achievement of completing the grind is apparently more appealing than the game itself.

I have to admit that I play WZ assault sometimes because I want the quick req points, but I do enjoy it and always play to win, even if it means dragging the game out to it’s max length.

I do see players that are in it to lose just to get the game over with and reap their REQ points. It’s sad and if I was the boss of all things Halo I would make sure that you only get REQ points for contributing to the game. Nothing for simply being present in the match.

I talk to people because I’m, you know, a human being.

Anyway, whenever my team loses, I hear my teammates say “who cares, at least we get REQ points” about 50% of the time.

I actually enjoy Warzone assault as I can get top kills every time. Win or lose, and as a plus you get double to RP as arena. I play arena when my team is online.

WA feels like a big custom game to me. It’s not serious.

yeah i understand that people want REQ points faster, who doesn’t after all? but the difference between you and these people I am talking about is that you enjoy what you are playing. They don’t. It just baffles me that someone would do something like that. lol

not me. While I like getting things unlocked, i only play what I enjoy. And since most of the gametypes I like are either absent or tossed in a mix bag of other gametypes i hate, I pretty much just play regular warzone, which i enjoy (except when I get thrown in a JIP match where it is an utterly lost cause, or in games where we are SEVERELY outmatched)

With how terrible the gameplay feels online (IMO) then yes

So it is worth playing something you do not enjoy in order to unlock something that makes your spartan look cute? which means almost nothing.

Im a completionist.

I already have all Halo 5 achs, so I just want to unlock all.

Same reason im going through MCC legendary campaigns.

That and I completed most of the other games I had and im bored of them.

REQ Grinding is a thing because Warzone Assault is one of the quickest ways to grind down points. It is also good for players who are starting out. Not sure if they have fun doing the process though… I did however LOL

so spending lots of time doing something you do not enjoy, to complete an achievement, will bring you joy because you got that achievement?

Yes.

You have a problem with how I spend my time?

Next ill have to go for 40k kill son BHL oh joy.

Warzone Assault is the quickest way to earn RP, that’s why I play it. The fact that Assault is far more tolerable than regular Warzone helps.

i don’t have a problem with how you spend your time, if that is what you enjoy(by some weird logic) but i do have a problem with how you spend that time if it isn’t actually playing the game. Example: going AFK in a game and not helping your team compete in the match. or giving up on the game because you are going to lose, and going afk. i do not know if you do this, and i am not saying you do do this, but i do know that people do do this, and it really grinds my gears.

Yup I need to do it again but never have time to

Oh no.

I don’t AFK games, I just dont enjoy Warzone but it hands the fastest REQ’s so I farm WZ for points
