Ok so when I first started playing halo 5 with my brother, we would go for gold packs or silver packs (rarely for bronze packs) to get good items. But we kept on getting common and uncommon items in our silver and gold packs. This sucked because we wasted so many req points and now I want to know what is the best way to get ultra rare and legendary items in the gold packs. Do I need to get all the common reqs or do I just continue on buying gold packs?
Buying silvers first is always the best bet to get the lower level req’s out of the way first
Get all the common/uncommon/rare out of the way by buying silver packs. If you do not do this first, your gold packs will contain the uncommon/rare stuff that you could pay 1/2 price for if you bought a silver pack.

No, because Bronze packs are not 100% chance of a perm. item, you MAY get 4 perms with 4 bronze(The price of a Silver) or you may get nothing at all, wasting the points.
The safest bet is to go for Silver first, then gold last and avoid bronze like a suicide grunt.

IMO the content of bronze packs is junk. You have to get several bronze before you get one unlock. Silvers contain two unlocks plus an emblem. I never bought bronze packs, and some of the common req’s were given to me in daily win req packs. (i did get one, which is why I say they are of little value)
I bought all silvers and got all common uncommon and rares. Then moved to the big dogs. You can see my profile.
