Req Cards...What Are They?

So the new vidoc explained a bit what they are, but I’m still having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around how exactly they’ll work. Any ideas? And what are your thoughts about them?

Ok so instead of there being a mantis on the map you now use a rec card to get access to one. Its the same for the power weapons. What they did was change up the drop system from halo 4. Now instead of getting random drops as you play you earn rec cards which you use during war zone.

They mentioned you get req cards through other game types as well, like the 4v4 arena, etc. Do you use them in those modes as well? Can you save up a whole bunch and use them all in one warzone and dominate? Will there still be power weapons/vehicles on the map?

What I want to know is how random these things are.

I wouldn’t like it very much if it was like Destiny because then I wouldn’t be able to get what I want by choice.

These requisition cards are exclusive to the Warzone gametype, every other part of the multiplayer will have your usual weapons on map and whatnot. I don’t know if there will be any power weapons/vehicles on the map itself, but you for sure can get some from the AI enemies that you kill.

From what I took from it, its more so a rank up system as you can collect them and use them in Warzone through other gametypes. For cosmetics items (Armor, skins, etc) you can use across all gametypes. So I assume If I can get 15 cards through 4v4 arena I can use those in Warzone only. If I’m wrong someone please let me know.

Either the skins you get from the req cards are rare, or there’s a lot of them. Otherwise it’d get really old getting the same skin all the time. Or just not getting one period once you have them all.

Post-game earnings from Arena and Warzone similar to Titanfall’s Burn Cards and replacing Ordnance Drops.

You acquire points during Warzone that can be used to “purchase” the use of those cards… More like pay Foehammer to drop it off  You cannot call in a “high level” card at the start of a game.

While there may be Arena and Warzone cross-mode cards, they are not game altering such as Warzone which allows access to powerweapons and vehicles “instantly” where Arena has us spawning symmetrically and fighting for positions, weapons and vehicles.

I like this

Haven’t any of you played TitanFall? Burn cards…kinda like the same thing one time use per match…hopefully we can hold up to 25 at least

This is that one thing that could just wreck the hell out of Warzone.

If they don’t do this juuuust right, it’s going to be the team with the most vehicles winning.

Or worse, if there are microtransactions tied to this… shudder

C’mon 343i. you’ve really outdone yourselves this far, think about how often we’re going to go through them, and decide if maybe we should have some sort of other system in place.

Honestly, access to the whole sandbox should not mean “Access to the whole sandbox if you have unlocked it from random drops”

Then again, it could be that you get like 15 cards per match, and I’ll have a shitton of stuff stocked up, but that still means relying on a system outside of gameplay and THAT IS NOT HALO

Isn’t that how BTB is supposed to work?

Well yeah, when the vehicles can be worked towards in-game.

When what vehicles you have are decided pregame by what random drops you’ve grabbed … well the whole thing falls apart really.

Same with warzone.
You assume that after a bit everyone won’t have multiples of basically everything.

So do you think the card is a one time use and you have to earn it again, or you have the card permanently and you simply earn the req points within the warzone match to use the card, but once you use it it stays, and you have to earn enough points to use it again?

Looking at the video, it has a x3 or whatever number next to the card, so I think its a one time use, and you earn the req points to use that card once. Seems like it will unbalance warzone to me, as the team that is doing well; killing more, capturing more bases will only be able to snowball harder by them getting all the req points, so getting all the vehicles. It seems like it will simply make it harder for a losing team to recover :frowning:

The cards are consumable if I’m not mistaken.

OMG… the same -Yoink- again. Even if only War-Zone will have that kind of option, it’s still a contradiction to Halos core.

Sure, but we still have good old regular Halo to fall back on as well. If you don’t like Warzone, which is a perfectly fine opinion, there’s still a lot for you in Halo 5.

This is bad. This is personal ordnance from H4 WRIT LARGE. This is a mechanism which allows the better players to accelerate the widening of the gap between them and everyone else. This is allowing a handful of players to dominate the masses. Four or five guys have a really good time, and instead of doing it at the expense of the other dozen players in the game like traditional BTB, now it will be at the expense of the other twenty players in the game. Maybe I’m rushing to judgment here, but I can’t see how this will win back the Halo traditionalists, or provide a balanced experience even if you’re not married to the old way of doing things.
