Req advice: Gold or Silver

Hey guys.

So here’s my plight. I play only about 1-2 games a day. Maybe once a week I get 5 games in in a day.

I I really want mark Iv or V, and locust. My favorite helmets in the game (besides recon which I have).

Should I just keep plugging at the gold pack and hope the RNG gods smile upon me? Or do you think it’ll help more to plug away at silver packs for the next like 6 months it’ll take to get them all and get bored with the game? Haha

At least try to get most of the uncommon and rare cards out of the way. It’s not quite as bad as you imagine. First get the commons with bronze. Then you’ll be getting two uncommon to rare with every silver. The number of rare emblems isn’t as bad as it looks; the majority of them come from commendations anyway. Then when you’re ready to move onto gold you’ll be pulling down nothing but rare and legendary every time. Much more satisfying than spending 10,000 points and getting uncommons.

So you think I should hit bronze pack as much as I can? Don’t I run the risk of not getting anything tho?

After a couple of weeks of bronze I went to silver and sprinkled in an occasional gold just to keep it fun. I started getting req points back on silver last week. 3 months after launch lol.

The difference is your SR108, I’m 35ish. At that rate I’ll be pulling bronze packs for like 3months haha

I have only redeemed for gold packs. the start from the bottom strategies make sense if you want to collect common reqs. The issue I had was that there are a lot of emblems awarded in gold packs, but, if what you are after is legendary stuff, that is only available in gold packs.

Go with Silver. As soon as you stop getting REQ cards but just REQ points instead - move to Gold.

Yeah, but if you have yet everything to unlock and you want LEgendary, there is just a small chance you’ll get any. Most likely you’ll end up getting all the Commons, Uncommons and Rares… Which is pointless because by buying the Silver packs it would have been quicker.

Definitely go Silver. There’s so many different Ultra Rare and Legendary armors (and other unlocks) that you’d need to be extremely lucky to get them. Not to mention that you can end up getting Rares in a Gold pack shutters.

1)Go to your profile
2) click on the requisition tab.
3) find the blue filter tab on the right side of the screen and see how many uncommon(u), common(C), rare(R), ultra rare (UR), and legendary (L) req you still need

  1. ADD UP THE NUMBER of (u+C+R)/25000 = number of req points you need for silver packs unlockables

5)ADD UP THE NUMBER of (UR+L)/210000 = number of req points you need for all gold packs unlockables

*note that some things are only unlocked via commendations, but these calculations are very close estimates

a) If you notice that you still have a CRAP ton of rare and uncommon stuff to unlock… your chances of getting the armors you want is VERY LOW.

b) If you notice that you have unlocked most of the rare and uncommon stuff… you’re at the gold grind and it’s just RNG, and you have a better chance than the above option

c) If you are getting 1500 req point cards from silvers, congrats you have unlocked everything from the silver packs, and can only buy the gold packs, this is the HIGHEST chance for you to unlock what you want.

That being said, you still have a small chance even of you are only opening gold packs up because you want 2 out of the about 300 things to unlock in a gold pack. (the 300 is made up, but the point is that it’ s a lot of stuff to unlock for UR and L stuff).

Good luck.

Seeing as you only play one or two games a day looking for legendary items, you might as well go all out on golds.
However, going silver packs first is the correct method if you aim at unlocking everything.

So for silvers, I need 1,012,500 req points.

And 1,425,000 for golds.

-Yoink-.

You’re not gonna get all the permanent unlocks until around SR 100 if you’re efficient about it which means don’t buy golds until all rares and below are unlocked.

Halo 5 is the grindiest Halo of all time. So strap in. Or give up. Either is fine.

I’m in it for the long haul. I love the game. Working full time and having a kid and wife limit my play time. I’m in the game for the long haul so I I think I’ll move to silver packs for now.
