Reposts as far as the eye can read...

For starters I would like to clarify that im not trying to flame or cause a fuss…but it seems that for the past week Ive seen almost nothing but reposted threads about: sprint vs non-sprint, perks and why theyre good/bad, casual vs competetive.

The reason why I bring this up is because since so many people are trying voice their opinins, opinions which are likely already been reflected in some way by someone else, that we’re pushing the more original threads deeper in the page abyss. Theres nothing wrong with voicing your opinions, but I ask you as part of the community: is it wrong to voice youre opinion in a existing thread rather than duplicating?

Ironically, you contributed to pushing down the more relevant threads.

And I kinda disagree because Sprint vs. No sprint is kinda important for 343i to see. The more threads, the more likely they will see it. To me, threads that talk about game balance are the relevant threads…

Actually, being on the forums in general is a waste of time, unless you feel satisfied by them or 343i pays close attention to what is being said. I’m not really happy when i discuss with people on the internet, I just hope 343i notices our threads so they can implement changes like removing evade (something i made a thread about).

It could be that they only look at the threads they started themselves, in that case my point is invalid and you’re right.

If people wanted to discuss the “original” threads than they will be discussed. If they’re not being discussed people don’t want to discuss them. I’ve seen such threads, and I’ve not posted in such threads because I do not wish to discuss it. There is no problem here.

Agreed
for the last 3 months I have posted ideas which I think would be great in game but because people keep posting the exacts same thing over and over again my ideas are sadly neglected the thing the deserve
life.

I agree, but there has been so little information that people are just making threads about the few things they know like sprint etc.

If it was important then 343i should add it as a permanent thread discussion. The fact of the mattet is that sprint threads are the most posted topics. And they shouldnt. 343i will most likely add it in the finished because it is a a part of halos evolution. And why its discussed to death is beyond me, outside of complaining hardcore fans stating that halo 4 should be the same, or similar to halo 3. In my eyes its part of series and should stay. Ive been around since halo ce but after other modern games like cod, crysis, bf, killzone started coming out, halo 3 felt ‘meh’ in comparison because it felt like the bare minimal of what halo is capable of.

I think if everyone just let the sprint threads die instead of commenting on them, maybe we’d see less of those.

Agreed. I wish these forums were moderated more so as to merge threads. It sometimes is grueling trying to get through all the threads. I end up skipping over a lot of threads due to repetitive titles alone, taking the chance on missing some good posts or new info.

If I were given the opportunity/honor of modding, I’d clean up the clutter of the threads quickly. As well, if given the authority, I’d edit/warn the hell out of people who post flaming posts. There seems to be so much anger here directed towards fellow forumites. I understand people’s opinions and all, so why call the next or previous guy a person or stupid for sharing their opinion even if it differs from your own? (I am well experienced in modding as I’ve been a mod at several sites and currently am a global mod at a Halo fan/collecting site (www.halocollectors.com).

I’d visit these forums a lot more if modding was more heavily enforced as well as penalties given out to repeat offenders.

I do visit daily, however sometimes for less than 10 minutes. Other forums I go to I’m on for 30-60 minutes and there are much less threads to read.

Just a thought.

OMG, another post about balance in the games.

You know what balance really is? Everyone starts out with and ONLY has the same weapons. BR only, NOTHING else. 1 frag grenades, nothing else. Infinite clip so it’s balanced as far as ammo is concerned. No grenade pickup. You ONLY get ONE, so no spamming nades.

No abilities, no shield regen.

Essentially make this all about the BR and NOTHING else. Then it would be a balanced gun vs gun game.

To add to this as you rank up in skill, you ONLY get matched up against those with like skill within 3 skill levels above/below your own. You can NOT go into parties with mixed skill, you must go into a party where to total difference between top and lowest skills are no more than 6 skill levels. Example if your a 40 and at the top, you can’t bring in someone with less than a skill of 34.

This would prevent those who start restarting accounts to go in with high skilled friends and totally pwn kids.

Boring huh? YES! That’s the point. There has NEVER been a truly 100% balanced system in Halo.

If there was, then Rockets wouldn’t be on certain maps. That sure the hell changes balance. So does Sword or shotgun. Sniper? You bet it changes balance in the right hands.

The addition of abilities just added to the already unbalanced nature of multiplayer. I found most of them to be extremely fun to use.

Anyway, getting off topic here.

I really wish the repetitive threads would be merged. MS/343 can see by the NUMBER of posts in a thread how popular a subject is, rather than having a multitude of threads all about the same things. Those duplicate threads push down other threads that some may want to read.

Go away from these forums for just a day, or even half a day and you’ll find many threads pushed to the next page.

Another thing that would help is make the time in between being able to post LONGER. Likewise, make the time allowed to start NEW posts LONGER. That would definitely help to stop the clutter.
