Reporting players

Hello

If I have someone who quits out in MCC and I want to report them for costing us the game (and 10 minutes of my time wasted) do I use the in-game report feature or is that for more serious things? I can open their gamercard and report them to microsoft for quitting early but is the in-game report for such things too? I’m not sure because there’s automatic quit bans in place anyway so I want to check.

You’re better off reporting them in game than through their gamercard.

Gamercard/Xbox Live reports just lower a player’s reputation and leaves a mark on their profile which says “avoid me”. Outside of that I don’t think it does much.

If you’re matching players who are repeatedly leaving they’ll be getting quit bans regardless. Any in game problems, use the in game report tool. It’ll be more effective.
Alternatively, any players who are cheating, teamkilling or hassassing you, clip it and send it through to Halo Support here on Waypoint along with the relevant details.

As a side note, if half of your team leaves a match you’re able to leave the game without a quit penalty given to you. This saves you time from playing those kind of matches.

You don’t have to report quitters, they get an automatic ban for quitting (1st time = 5 mins, 2nd = 15 mins, 3rd = 30 mins, 4th = 1 hour, 5th = 3 hours, 6th = 16 hours)
