There is no reason to use the battle rifle in arena or other playlists and I think they need to be replaced with weapons that are actually useful like the carbine, H2BR, or Warzone Battle Rifle variants. Its been confirmed that no more changes are happening to the sandbox for halo 5 so wats the point of using a weapon that is utterly useless in arena maps.

yeah, i agree. the BR is pointless to use now
I’d love to see the Long Barrel Recon Variant or the H2BR replace any regular Recon H5BR that’s placed on an Arena map.
I can agree with this. There isn’t much point to pick up the standard H5 BR when the magnum is just overall a much better option in arena. Just watch a match of the Halo WC virtually none of the BRs are ever picked up during the match and it is none stop magnum fights. There needs to be incentive to trade your magnum for a BR or else there is no point in it even being there.

I used the BR last night with success in Slayer so it’s not completely useless, but I haven’t transitioned fully yet to be a magnum user.
The H5BR has never felt right to me. It really seems like you are using a nail gun and not a kickyoink burst fire rifle. The look and feel of the H2BR is far superior.
Yes please. I would much rather see DMRs in the place of where BRs are now. I actually feel like I’m at a disadvantage when I use the BR which is sad considering how much i used to like it. There’s virtually no reason to ever pick it up now since the Magnum outclasses it in almost every sense.
I use/pick up the BR all the time in Arena, and I do have some success with it. Why not have a secondary weapon? It is fairly useful at mid range, and it has its place. I really believe it is more useful than players think. We just go too used to the ease of the old BR, and we can’t adjust to what it is now. It has worked well for me as a good support weapon, and I take down more players than sometimes even I expect. There are times when I wonder if the spread or cadence of the BR has helped me to lose a fight, but then again I don’t blame the weapon. I blame how I used it.
There are already Carbines on most of the maps, and DMR’s which is another weapon that players underestimate. I think some of this is much like a placebo affect. We read and hear so many players saying the BR sucks, and when/if we try to use it and it doesn’t meet our be all end all expectations than by all accounts our suspicions were verified.
Well I have never been on that bandwagon. I think the weapon tuning was one of the best things they could have done for Halo 5. I commend them, and I only wish they would have gone as far as changing up the Pistol as well.

I think the H5BR should just be replaced by a other type of BR, not somethings else. The Long Barrel Recon BR would be a good choice I think, or even better the H2BR, which actually looks (especially that zoom!) sounds and feels like a BR.

Yeah, I don’t see why there’s such a big fuss about the tuning. Especially post-hotfix, that was near perfect.
I think the BR can still be used, but I’d rather use the pistol more because it just feels more effective and consistent.
