This is just something that’s been bugging me recently, and it is nothing to do with any issues in the game (all of them have been resolved for me, thankfully, except for stat tracking).
I went on to play a bit of H2a matchmaking, and I played for two hours.
Every single match was team brs. Don’t get me wrong, I love the BR and think it’s a great mode, but two hours of the exact some mode with the same limited selection of maps is devastating to the soul. The guts were taken out of the other playlists by decimating the lobby numbers - every now and again, I’d prefer more than 2v2 or 3v3. In H2a, I want something more than just brs. I’ve actually put the game down, because the matches are so wildly repetitive.
At the moment, there’s 6 maps available. That should be doubled (I know that’s a lot of work from scratch, but even if it is just something from forge, every little helps). Team slayer based gametypes should be in one playlist, objective based in another. This way, when people get bored of team brs, they can go mix things up. The larger variety of maps will lead to a much longer lasting appeal, so even if the continual team br loop doesnt get changed, at least it will feel more varied if there are more maps. And this way, people won’t feel the need to put the game down. And try for more 4v4 or 5v5 games in playlists (outside of h2a) - 2v2 and 3v3 is nice, but it is nice to have a fairly full lobby.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this game with a passion, and it was my first xbox game all those years ago. But this is seriously putting me, and a few of my friends off of it, and I’d be interested to hear if it is the same for anyone else. I know the team slayer br loop has been mentioned on here before, but I haven’t seen tonnes about map variety.
