Although no developers will probably take into consideration what the community says. I’ll test my luck.
Theoretically speaking, you guys are removing the multiplayer from Halo 4 by removing the publicly viewable ranks in the old (1-50) system. Now I know this is not confirmed, but I from the evidence I feel it is. Reach was not as fun or successful because it wasn’t competitive enough after trying to stop boosters with the virtually uncompetitive ranking system. It wouldn’t make sense to make the same mistake twice. So why would you guys think of making such a terrible decision? Hear me out, and keep it. Halo 2 and 3 were the best Halos to most everyone. I would think you guys would have tried to fix this, rather then dodging the problem. In my opinion, I’d rather have a fun ranking system with bragging rights and devalued ranks from boosters. Then to have completely no ranking system viewable by anybody other then yourself. If I wanted to play a casual shooter I’d play Call of Duty. I don’t see a point in getting to play with extremely skilled players and nothing to show for it. 343 industries, you were smart for buying Halo. Don’t mess our favorite game up. There are cheaters in every aspect of life, don’t try to be heroes.
-Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere, I had to jump at the opportunity to save my favorite game.

What are you talking about? First of all, Campaign is the game, not Multiplayer. Second, Matchmaking is not all of Multiplayer. Third, visible ranks are absolutely pointless.
What came first the chicken or the egg?
Scientists have proven to themselves that the chicken must come first to lay the egg. Though eggs create chickens, the chickens must lay the egg first, not the other way around. That’s because the egg can’t spontaneously come into existence to spawn a chicken without being incubated.
(Infinite improbability drive FTW?)
What does this have to do with the topic?
The campaign is the chicken, the MP is an egg.
The campaign drives the game forward in technology and lore, the MP reflects that drive.
I do not condone removing MP and don’t understand why you’d think it’s happening. Anyways my big beef with Halo’s treatment of expansion content is the lack of campaign additions to go along with the map packs.
CoD isn’t staying on the top by releasing constant new games, they’re doing it by releasing expansion campaigns to go with the MP content (and hiding it as “new games”). CoD is keeping the entire fanbase relevant by releasing new content across the board, not just concentrating on any single aspect…
That could be seen as probably that major contributor to CoD’s post MW success. The broadness of their support allows them to not concentrate on any one thing (which I believe the OP would like have done to the MP itself).

Removing the artificial need to feel like you were one of the best halo players was one of the best things reach had over halo 3.
Getting rid of the skill requirement for ranks is something I will never dislike, because it wasn’t fun being forced to try and get your skill up to progress.
I had quite a few friends who were more casual players, and I always asked them why they didn’t rank up more, and every single time, they told me they hated the ranked playlists. I didn’t see it myself until I got to about 44 in the trueskill system, because that’s where I couldn’t get any higher, and I grew to despise ranked as well.
Seems to me that the only people who care about the ranking system are those who got 50 quite quickly anyway, so what’s the point?
Competitive is a mindset, not something inherent. I say this as a competitive player, myself. In video games, if a game is competitive, it’s going to be result of the game mechanics and mindset of the players. A number or rank next to your gamertag is not going to make a game competitive. I cannot deny that a skill rating encourages players to be more competitive than they might otherwise be, but if a number is what it takes to motivate, I would put it to such players that they are not as competitive as they claim.
I loathe MP in most of its forms and have never touched it in halo games…sooo yeah, removing MP to me does not even factor in whether I find a game good or not actually it might influence POSITIVELY my decision to purchase the game as I would assume no resource was diverted from the campaign/single player
