Is it possible at this stage in the game development (or lack of w.e) to remove hitscan and then returning the BR to a 4sk weapon? Buffing the BR won’t seem to work and neither will nerfing the DMR without other negative effects.
Removing hitscan greatly reduces the long range effect of the battle rifle and slightly reduces short range. The power increase makes up for the mid range issues and then it’s a fair weapon.
I’m not going to lie about the fact that this is inspired by my love of Halo 3 BUT if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If needed a slight fire rate increase could be introduced but I find it unnecessary.

Halo 2’s BR was hitscan, and most of the community agrees H2 was better than H3 in gameplay, pace, focus on individual skill and overall multiplayer experience.
Travel time makes for horrid hit registrations online and a HUGE difference when on host.
The problem lies not with hitscan, but with the maps and other gameplay mechanics. Hitscan is fine, as is the netcode of the game for the most part.
Halo 3 being projectile rather than hitscan was the biggest thing to cause an uproar at launch. If your goal is killing most of the player population then yes… removing hitscan would make tons of sense.
Buffing the BR will render AR/Supp/SR completely useless. The DMR, as it stands, is OP. Nerf the RoF on the DMR. Then, it will work as intended; superior at long ranges, but not able to destroy close range.
