It is not only unfair, but unethical to make it so that people who have purchased DLC cannot play it on a regular basis.
While 343 suggests we will be matched up with other DLC players, it’s pretty rare that actually happens, since it only takes one player of 16 to not have the DLC for bigteam.
Same for other playlists.
343 needs to do one of the following:
Have a DLC only playlist
make some of the exisiting playlists DLC required
Give map packs away for free

Exactly. They have been “teasing” us with these DLC playlists. Taking them away…giving them back…only to take them away again. Noble and Defiant are marvelous map packs with some really great maps that i love to play on a regular basis. Its just really annoying that everytime i turn around some other “necessary” update takes it all away. And your right i NEVER get matched up with a Noble or Defiant map lobby when im matchmaking. Hopefully 343 actually pays attention to these forums or atleast some kind of fan feedback so they know to STOP JACKING WITH THE DLC PLAYLISTS!..so frustrating…what did i pay for?

This is the only I can see being actually feasible to do. I think if they did they should do this in at least BTB and Infection, due to the high players in a match. Unfortunately, 343 has said that this will be the last update for a while.

DLC for Reach will never be free. It has achievements tied to it, and Microsoft does not allow achievements to be added for free DLC.

343 was able to fool a decent amount of people with DLC support in reach, but those people probably won’t fall for the same tricks as easily in halo 4. So 343 will have to either find a bunch of new players to trick with each title, or do a better system.
For me, at least, I never buy DLC for the achievements… I don’t really care about those at all. I’d much rather they release their silly map packs without achievements, so that eventually the maps can be required & cheap/free and people can actually play them instead of buying the maps to get a few achievements and only be able to play them in custom games.
If 343 wants to add in extra achievements, fine, but do that with an actual DLC expansion-pack like what games used to get before companies realized they could charge for every little thing ever and people would buy it.
Some of you guys are worrying a little bit too much. I expect them to get things back in order in the April matchmaking update.

I know how you feel since I have all the maps packs, I swear dlc maps are extremely rare, there’s way too many crappy forge maps that need be removed.
I don’t even know what you guys are talking about. When I play with my team we hit the maps a lot. I mean come on rite now if you really want to play the DLC grab 3 other kids from this forum thread rite now and hit the battle field, team slayer is waiting I bet you’ll find the maps…

There are still plenty of ways. Stuck on a Defiant achievement? Delete the Noble and Anniversary map packs from your hard drive. You can always re-download them later, and when the game DOES match you with other DLC owners, it will bring up Condemned or Highlands because that is the only DLC on your system.
