Probably not.
Probably not.
No.
Probably.

Edit: You’ll probably be banned because this is about modifying the Halo games, but in reality 343i should hire you guys. Like right now, I’m not even joking.

Unless this is a virus, in which case, you suck.

idk, there is a lot of info here for it to just be a virus or something… The guy will probably be banned though because its a modding tool

That last line was mostly on the off-chance that the OP is a criminal mastermind and this is all a ruse. Never hurts to prepare just in case.

Well he didn’t do any modding himself, so he won’t get banned for that. Maybe a short advertisement-related ban.

But good stuff. .map mods are easy and fun! Loved the countless hours flying a scorpion around on Blood Gulch.

I’ll say straight off that this has nothing to do with cheating, or online modding, and that the developers are strictly against that (and have gone off on people who want to use it as such). Cheaters have always been a detriment to the modding community by giving creativity and exploration a bad name.

It’s open source. It’s not a virus. You can see every bit of its code and even compile it yourself if you’re that paranoid.
Glad to see .MAP modding is being expanded to newer generation Halos.

I don’t know many computery terms, but if it is legit, as you say it is, I shall try it out.

Though, I don’t have any clue how to use or whatever else it might do. I always assumed mods were some sort of really awesome magic that MS feared and went all Templar on.

Well, look at Halo 1 Custom Edition, the mods it has are awesome. I’m guessing this could let you do something similar? I don’t think this would really be allowed on xbl, I don’t think that is what this guy is trying to do anyways though.

We can’t permit the detailed discussion of modding utilities on these forums regardless of whether they’re used for personal entertainment instead of to gain an unfair advantage during online play.
