Once upon a time, someone smart at Bungie realised that the Gauss Hog is the most overpowered thing on wheels. Sensibly, they removed it from multiplayer, adding in the way more balanced Rocket Hog on certain maps where needed.
Now, some ‘genius’ spark has decided, hey, why not put this thing back in Multiplayer? That must be a good idea, right?#
Wrong. Dead wrong. Whoever gets the Gauss Hog in Exile wins the match. End of. Forget the Scorpion, it’s slower, has only one gunner/driver and is hard to miss. The Hog is fast, one-shot kills, two-shots vehicles, and has independent driving and gunning.
This is not a question of ‘Should it be removed’, because that’s not the question. There was a DAMN good reason why it was removed from Multiplayer in the first place, and that reason hasn’t changed in the slightest. Get. Rid. Of. It.
Yeah, they need to lower it’s fire rate or something. Sad that I can get 30+ kill in it before dying. The only thing that counters it is the tank, but a good driver can make it so the hog can counter the tank.
When I’m in the gunner seat, everything I look at dies. That’s not me bragging. That’s me telling you how powerful it is.

Let me guess… you just had a game where you got buthurt by the gausshog, you had a -Yoink- game, either left early or started swearing and now you’re on here to moan about?

So do tell why it shouldn’t be removed then instead of trying to de-rail the subject onto why we shouldn’t think about removing things from multiplayer maps.
The reduction in rate of fire has made it as balanced as it needs to be. The only thing they SHOULD do on Exile, is give the red base a gauss hog as well.

Oh, please, bite me some -Yoink!- more.
No. EVERY, and I mean every, game on Exile has been the same. Enemy grabs Gauss Hog. Enemy proceeds to butt-Frag everyone on our team. Irrespective of tanks, grenades, plasma pistols…whatever.
And then, even if it gets blown up? Oh look! Enemy team will camp and get it again.
Again, the Banshee and Tank have built in downsides. The tank has similar firepower to the Gauss and moves like a concrete milkfloat, along with slow turning and firing. Reach was fine without the damn Gauss, so why did it get added back in when it is pretty blatantly overpowered? Even if I was getting in it every game, I’d still call it grossly overpowered. Heaven forbid there are some of us out here who care about fair teams and game balance more than being 'uber leet.

Maybe remove the tank and replace it with a guass hog was well. Also make it closer to red team.

This post is true. I’ve never had a guy do better then Running Riot on a Gauss Hog in a game I was in and I was driving the Gauss Hog that managed it.
Banshee, Nades, Plasma Pistol, Sniper, Rockets, Scorpion. There are so many opportunities to kill the Gauss Hog on the map that it all balances out.
> You can always snipe the gunner with one of the 5 snipers that are always in use, or grenades to flip it.
Tell me, which happens faster? Being a sniper and landing a headshot on the gunner in a moving vehicle or being the gunner and 1 shotting the sniper by hitting it anywhere.
nooo it s fine!!!its easy to take them out ,you guys just suck!! so stop trying to turn this game in something like**** REACH! people in this forum are the biggest crybabies on anny forum!!NERF this and this and this this this…OMG play the freaking game AND SHUT UUUP

Yeah, any halfwit knows to keep a Hog moving to avoid damage. Good look trying to snipe the thing before being one-shotted…

I’m sorry, does your mother know you’re on the Internet? Because it seems like you should be in School about now.

Coming from someone who uses it every match, I can tell you how it easily counters those.
Banshee: A banshee doesn’t even stand a ghost of a chance. Nades: You’ll be moving at a high speed and it takes 2 stickies to kill a hog. PP: Most people will die before they get anywhere close to lock-on range. And even if they do land it, the shot doesn’t disable the gun. Also once people have the operator spec, this won’t be a viable option anymore. Sniper: I addressed this in a previous post. Rockets: They might be a good counter IF you can hit it. But even getting these requires you to get lucky with ordinance. Scorpion: If it misses one shot, its dead. And due to how fast the hog is, it’s very likely.
Now all of these are based on 1v1 scenarios. Granted with a team effort, you’ll be able to bring it down. The problem is that it shouldn’t take over half of the team just to deal with 1 vehicle.
