Remove the Wasps on Deadlock

The Wasps on Deadlock just destroy the map. The moment one roams the sky and they manage to keep you off of your own Wasp spawn it’s just an undoable map. With it they gain map control ez pz and get all the power weapons and other vehicle spawns.
This is also an easy tactic to kill farm as that just happened to me and my friends. Just keep the map the way it was before the godforsaken Wasp update.

Each base in Deadlock has two Plasma Pistol spawns. If you at least want a chance at surviving the Wasp onslaught, you’ll pick one of them up quickly to start the game.

The Plasma Pistol is rather ineffective since the Wasps usually keep alot of distance between you and it and when it does hit it drops miles from your location and usually within their lines so you can’t get to it.
Also you become a huge target to a possible second Wasp.

i hate vehicles but the wasps aren’t that bad. they can’t take that much damage.

as long as match is somewhat balanced they aren’t too hard to kill.

The problem is that they can easily turn the tide to their favor on Deadlock as it’s just about impossible to get to power weapons, located in vast open areas, without being spotted by them.
When the enemy manages to outshoot your Wasp he can cut off nearly all routes to the weapons to counter him and secure the area around your Wasps’ spawnpoint when it’s about to spawn allowing it to be taken by either himself or a teammate of his.
And with 2 Wasps roaming the skies it basically becomes impossible to get out of your homebase.

The issue isn’t really with the Wasps, but with the matching system which is why the enemy team is able to get both Wasps and not let you out of your base. It’s either a mismatch of skill and/or you’re playing against a full party.

I don’t agree with two Wasps either, but there are plenty of counters for it on the map. The closest counters that you can use would be the plasma pistol and the hydra. The hydra is a little riskier, but it can be grabbed if you’re quick enough.

That’s why you wait for a particularly bold one to fly closer to your base. Or bait it closer to you. I’m certainly not suggesting you go chasing after it to shoot it down. That’s just crazy in a BTB match lol.

If your team can’t get their own wasp at the beginning of the game, then that’s an issue with the teammates rather than with the other team being particularly skilled or partied up. Now a skilled team could be an issue later in the match when teams start setting up for Wasp re-spawns.

thats just poor map design, and the plasma pistol “counter” isnt all that safe, so that if you are getting camped (ESPECIALLY in CTF) you may not even grab the plasma pistol and theres almost no chance of actually using it.
