Spartans should be expected to win as a team or lose as a team. If someone wants to be a cowardly quitter, force them to go the extra mile and restart the game from the dashboard or turn their console off completely. I see too many games end with fewer players than it began with for ranks to mean anything.

If I get put into a game on a forigen server with a 200+ ms ping time and I can put a clip of the BR into someone, melee them from behind only to have that player turna round and kill me in .5 seconds with the AR you damn right I’m going to quit the game, Yes I know its lag, but I should’t be forced or expected to finish out a game with those kinds of shennanigans going on

It’s less than 10 minutes of your life. Get over yourself and contribute the best you can, or restart your Xbox. Your willingness to be so eager to quit forces the rest of your team to lose, when one of the promos for the game tells us winning is everything.
Why should I endure a person on my team going -15? That’s not fun when they can’t even pull their own weight.

If you want to be so eager to abandon said teammate, it shouldn’t be so convenient for you to do. Is your backpack big enough, or can you not handle the extra weight?

Rank has no adverse effect of who you are matchmade with in beta.
Leave quiting sometimes life happens. I do loose my calm when some one is -15 but that is the fault of the player search algorithms or the lack of skill ranks. I miss being able to add filters like in halo 3.

If so, then (1) why bother showing ranks to begin with, and (2) why foster the bad habit of quitting, regardless?

Kinda hard to get out of onyx when every game a player goes neg 20 or more

I agree, life happens. And when it does, chances are you’ll have to be away from your console long enough that you won’t be inconvenienced by having to turn your Xbox back on when life is done happening.

It’s also hard to get up and out of onyx when games are ending 1v4 because the enemy took an early lead, hence the thread.

Couldn’t tell you for your first question, beta is beta, placeholder?
As for the second, it’s easier to identify those who are manually quitting if you give them the easy option to just “quit.” You can then properly penalize them, as opposed to occasionally wrongfully penalizing a person who might of had something come up and just turned off their xbox or their internet connection suddenly died.
Quitters will quit regardless of there being 1 button press or 3 to do so.

It’s quite hard to fight a team that is well organised when you have a punching bag that just gets his -Yoink- killed and is an easy target.
