Yeah, this thread has gone completely off the rails. Honestly, I’m seeing the result I was fully expecting to happen: Civil War.
Tried playing Competitive very early in morning, morning, and at ‘peak’ hours.
STILL cant find a match. Looks like i’ll never get my challenge done or even hope to play Comp for what matter. Whose at blame here? Platform based match making.
it should not be this way, crossplay on or off shouldnt be a thing especially when the game’s population isn’t increasing. This isn’t acceptable at all especially when the solution is a simple fix of removing a player divide ingame tool everyone can access.
Thats not platform based matchmakings fault, thats the fault of:
- the CGB existing, as well as the playerbase having a preference for social matchmaking
- everybody having already grinded out the current unlockable content selection, thus having no desire to sweat in comp.
- the majority of comp players abandoning MCC for Infinite, because Infinite is the Comp matchmaking they were looking for.
enforcing crossplay is gonna do nothing except make both Console and PC players angry. if your having as hard of a time finding a match as your claiming, and genuinely have crossplay on, then that likely means nobody is playing comp, since everyone else would be having a worse time finding matches with crossplay off, forcing them to turn it back on to find matches period.

Way to attempt discrediting me entirely, pretending this isn’t an issue. It would still increase queue times. and this is an issue for social too btw on certain games.

the issue is low player counts, but the players that ARE playing aren’t playing the modes you want them to; crossplay doesn’t fix this, and the lack thereof is also not the cause of the problem since low player counts are an issue on both platforms. if anything, people would be enabling crossplay in order to find more matches, but alas nobody is playing the modes you want to play, and thus the queue times are garbage.
and here’s another kick to your ego: I have the game on both platforms, I play with crossplay enabled.
my preference is geared towards the PC port, but I play the console version so me and an old college friend can queue up some customs and campaign games when we wanna hangout and chill from halfway across the continent. he doesn’t like playing with PC players because their driving on KBM is in his own words “worse than Kat” and their accuracy is insane compared to the Controller input. points that I understand and can respect since it does have the potential to be problematic to ones own experiences.
once again: taking away the players options to allow for control over the kind of experience they want to have is ignorant and ill-conceived. if that loses credibility with you, than you had none to begin with.

Also preeeetty sure Controller users have a huge advantage due to aim assist and KBM players have been very vocal about it, and they cant escape controller users(like me) either on PC.
Better question yet, can you elaborate how NOT playing with PC players qualifies under the definition of ‘kind of experience they want to have’ even though PC players play the exact same game just in a different platform? They existing and playing with you has zero impact on your gaming experience.
The only ‘experience’ you’re having is cutting off a player pool, meanwhile the PC playerbase(steam numbers looking grim) gets messed over even more. Your ‘choice’ isn’t a choice it’s a selfish prejucide and i think it should be taken away. And that’s your right. However, not every complaint you hear from a PC is automatically invalid.
Guess I’m just a masochist then, I clock most of my hours in this game on PC, So I don’t understand how I hate PC players if I am one.

Both platforms have different crowds, each with different ways they choose to play the game. Many PC players hate carrying Console Players, and Many Console Players hate facing off against PC players, if that bothers you than thats a you problem, they shouldn’t be punished because you don’t agree with their opinions.
You think PC player counts are worse than Xbox because of low Steam numbers? Trust me, Both are languishing at likely around the same numbers. If anything PC, from my experience, has more players since Steam isn’t the only place people are playing. I have a MUCH easier time queuing up on PC than I do on Xbox. The only selfish thing is demanding people play how you want, when it’s clear they aren’t even interested in what you’re playing to begin with.

Honestly I’d say that I was pretty civil, but its clear with their last reply they don’t actually care about the point, they just want to fight.
Not even going to entertain it, better things to waste my time on anyways like gushing over all that meaty Cut Content thats getting added in the nearish future, absolutely excited if the wording means what I hope it means
