I’ve encountered 4 or 5 hackers in matchmaking… in the almost 2 years since they enabled crossplay.
As somone with an Xbox in their living room, and a PC in their bedroom, you PC haters are being ridiculously childish.

You and I use the same inputs. Same framerate.
It’s not about hating PC, it’s about CHOOSING not to play with PC players. It’s about player choice.
I have both as well, but I can understand why a console player wouldn’t want to play with a PC player and vice versa.
it all comes down to wanting the choice to play or not play with a system that has an entirely different social etiquette and gameplay culture, as lets be fair, a majority of people on both have wildly different playstyles due to the available advantages and limitations that affect both.
most of the “PC are Haxors!” or “Console has Aimbots!” comments are just people with an inability to really understand and convey their feelings, so they fall into citing serious issues that can be associated with what they dislike that aren’t necessarily the actual problem.
I have been playing MCC since 2016, and when they added cross-play back in 2019, I still have never seen a single cheater in matchmaking.
But, cross-play should be able to be turned on and off. It’s player choice whether or not they want to play with PC players. Me personally, I keep it turned on because Halo 2 is a dead game, where it’s half console, and half PC. But if that choice was removed, I’d be upset even though it wouldn’t affect me.
Never limit player choice!
This is definitely going to be one of those threads that’s going to bring out the absolute worst in people. It’s gonna get REAL ugly.
Everyone here arguing about PC players all being cheaters, keep in mind that when you look deeper into the PC gamer sphere, it turns into “linux gamers are cheaters.” Just because we can tinker with the kernel much easier or trick the OS into believing that is VM is running on bare metal. Linux gamers have just argued for being able to play their favorite games on an OS they prefer with the same functionality as a Windows gamer. Most large game dev studios are still reluctant at that cause “muh cheaters.” 343 does about the same thing along with the Windows preference due to being a Microsoft studio. Thank Valve that some of that is changing, though.
I have seen cheaters REGULARLY. I cant even tell you how upsetting is is to just watch someone lierally fly arpund the map. The high possibility of cheaters has made me permanently disable crossplay.
Don’t worry, I’ve seen people doing that in CGB games, but matchmaking, I haven’t seen that. It may be more prevalent in competitive since I spend my time in social matchmaking, though.
I did not say all PCs are hack happy. I said it’s the whining, and the deniability that I’m just done with, that unless I’ve got a referee standing over your shoulder in person, I don’t know if your hacking or not for real. Real easy for you or any other PC to run an wall hack and not be obvious about it. And you could win 10/10 games and I be none the wiser, but that’s the thing about my whole argument.
Now you want to show off your stats as cred?
You’re stats are useless to prove your point because your basing your credibility on the very stats that can be influenced by the very hacks were talking about. I didn’t watch you play those games, Are you good? Are you really diamond?? Maybe, or maybe your running a walI hack, and just being cute in how your using it, I don’t know and that’s the point.
Every stat you have might be tainted. Who knows the truth?? Its the credibility and you nor any other PC player can’t prove a thing to it otherwise.
So even 1 on 1 proves nothing, Notta, zip, zilch, bupkiss. Because of your credibility while on PC is suspect, because you have the easy ability to cheat.
That’s why I don’t want anything to do with your community anymore, problems, claims or otherwise. I’m sick of it.
So you can thank the hack creating community for that, or you can thank your own community for buying their hacks.
The paranoia is strong with this one and there will be no changing the view of people like this
is it really becoming of you to accuse someone you wiped the floor with of hacking like if I was hacking and you were cross-mapping with the AR in ways nobody ever does like
what does that mean, budden
if you think I’m a modder but you beat me at a humiliating rate quite frankly what DOES that say about how you play on Gods
As a PC player who plays with crossplay on and no input restrictions I think this is unnecessary
So much fear-mongering, and misinformation in this thread to legitimize the gatekeeping of a player population.
Many days since i posted this. Played lots of Halo MCC and i have NOT come across a cheater. MCC’s anti-cheat is good + it’s a PAID game meaning cheater likeliness is lower. Played with lots of VERY good players as in the ones most people probably would call cheaters and i know they’re good because i have a tendency to check player careers and their stats & playtime check out as legit.
I suggest most of you do this observation and pay closer attention if you think i’m trying to convince you, because i assure you, there isn’t any cheaters. I’d imagine they are some but they are so incredibly rare you just can’t justify allowing crossplay to be disabled over such extreme fringe cases.
Honestly i can go on forever debunking the supposed cheater boogeyman myth, but i don’t think i have too.
LITERALLY JUST PLAY THE GAME, OBSERVE. I have NOTHING to prove to you, Playing the game will answer your questions. Boot up Halo MCC RIGHT now. Once you do, try telling me im trying to ‘bait’ with a straight face again ![]()
Disabling Crossplay and ‘’‘’‘’‘choosing’‘’‘’‘’’ not to play with PC players is not a ‘choice’ its a detriment to the game’s population and ESPECIALLY PC players. Why? simple, low population KILLS playlists, KILLS the ability to even find matches on certain games most hours, increased queue times up to 5+ minutes, it makes the game appear DEAD. I actually have a smoother experience finding matches on Halo Infinite and i wish i was joking, sometimes i do genuinely wonder if Halo Infinite is 10x popular and people saying that game is ‘dead’ are exaggerations.
Remember when people were rallied against DLC Map packs because it divided playerbases? Yeah whatever happened to that?
Player population matters, playing what you want to play matters. No one should be excluded.
You can’t justify dividing a game’s playerbase unless you’re a gatekeeper it’s that simple. You’re not ‘choosing’ you’re Gatekeeping.
Stop using the cheater boogeyman as an excuse to justify this gatekeeping rhetoric it’s getting tiresome.
Playing with or against PC players doesn’t negatively affect you. It BENEFITS YOU, you receive a bigger and more diverse playerpool, it boosts population for the game and healthy in the super long term. Something giving the choic- sorry i mean GATEKEEPING Menu setting killed.
you’d think Halo MCC on PC would be bigger as this grandiose win of the centuries no one imagine would happen one day aaand… it wasnt.
Dodger, what nonsense are you going on with? You edited this thing three times and I’m still struggling to understand what your talking about?
what do you mean by Gods, is that a typo? Did we play or something?
ran into a guy flying around the map on Sandbox last night in 4v4. click on the profile and of course it was a PC smurf who’s first achievement was unlocked 57 minutes ago(at the time when I checked).
even if the smurf got banned, they can just unlink the Microsoft account from Steam and attach a brand new account to pull the same stunt. Im cool with people having the choice to not play with pc.
“On God” is a term used widely, I say Gods because I am Ásatrú - polytheistic Norse Pagan.
And yes, I did edit it three times, because I was frakkin’ drunk and the wife said, “Hey, try not to get banned for aggression” and she keeps me afloat. You and I played Halo 3 against each other.
…
OH NO WAIT HOLD ON THAT WASN’T YOU, THAT WAS SOMEBODY WITH A NEARLY IDENTICAL AVATAR, A GUY NAMED SHADOW BULLET
OKAY
SORRY.
THAT ONE IS ON ME.
Gods your avatars look almost exactly alike ugh.
Anyway, okay, no, we did not play together, my bad. Again! Sorry! I was blitzed! Anyway no, I’m not a cheater and have no interest in doing so. If you want I could absolutely 1-1 you and stream what I’ve got going on.
ah yes divide the already dwindling playerbase even more that surely won’t kill the game
This should not be hidden. I can tell who flagged this repeatedly.
Ooh thats a story I’m curious to hear
