Remove quit banning.

I left a a match because it was a gametype I accidentally picked. So I left and instantly got banned for quiting once. That rule is to strict when it applies for people who HAVE to quit. It shouldn’t even be in the game people have a right to quit.

Okay, nobody be rude.

I don’t have a link to the ban thread we have, but I’m sure someone will give it to you.

Any issue you have with bans I’m sure have been talked about there.

Edit: Lazy link  to the ban thread.

Sure, people have a right to quit. That’s why the option is there.

But there are consequences.

You didn’t get banned for quitting the one time you picked the wrong playlist. You got banned for all the times you’ve quit in total.

I have only auit like two times in this game

People do have a right to quit; that’s true.
Just like 343i has a right to ban you for quitting.

It isn’t fair when it’s not a rage quit.

I actually agree with this.

I think people who’d qualify for a ban should be matched together instead and have no rewards or stats tracked for the matches it takes to get back into normal matchmaking.

The rules are there next to the playlist selection.
You think it’d be fair to quit out whenever it’s not a map you want? How is it only fair for rage quits?

5 in your last 50 are dnfs. Roughly 10% which seems to be about the standard for a ban. Either way this stuff goes in the ban thread, I didn’t actually have to link as someone was kind enough to do it for me.

It doesn’t matter, you might of not picked that playlist but your team mates did and you quiting put them at a disadvantage.

I’ve picked playlists I didn’t mean to but I stayed and tried to help my team win.

And this is where 343 fails at least in Halo 3 when we quit we could just pick up another game. Using negative reinforcement does not help people want to play a game. Why would people want to play a game where they get punished because life happens, such as kids crying, getting called into work, internet goes out and then you get punished for it. So yeah the ban hammer is the most idiotic thing 343 has done to halo 5.

The banning rules are completely fair. When you quit you are putting your team at a disadvantage. If it was allowed people would constantly be quitting making the game not fun to play. This would in turn have a huge effect on the population of the game. They aren’t going to change the banning rules just because you want to quit because you are too much of a baby to finish a game type that you picked. It’s halo either way and it’s fun. You will get better playing game types you usually don’t.

“Have” to you say? You “have” to quit. Really.

I quit occasionally due to life and I have never been banned. You are banned for making a habit of it. I don’t want to play with people that quit so I’m glad you guys are getting banned.

Negative punishment, not negative reinforcement. Negative reinforcement would be removing something unpleasant in order to make a behavior more likely. Negative punishment is removing something positive for example your license to play multiplayer in order to reduce bad behavior. The ban hammer is a response to bad behavior which has been a problem in all halo games (particularly h3) and obviously preventing someone who broke the rules from playing the game does not remove their desire to play as this thread and the many like it would show. If you behave badly, there are consequences.

Um no, there have literally been times when I have been called into, and internet has gone out, and lets not forget the infamous of getting disconnected at the end of a match. So you know people like you are the real problem with halo not the quitters. You and every other try hard fails to realize the people who grew up with halo now have families so staying in a match or having to idle happens but you know lets punish them because people have responsibilities. Halo would be far better with out the elitist attitude you and the other try hards seem to carry.

I partially agree with you. When someone leaves a team, the game is basically decided there. It just isn’t fair how easily a team can lose a match if someone leaves. Thus the ban will make you think before you leave.
Now when you lag out it isn’t at all fair to be banned for that. It’s happen to me before.

Hahaha are you serious bro?! What you said makes absolutely no sense and it’s not even correct. I am 30 years old. I have been playing Halo since I was a freshman in high school with Halo: CE system link. I’m not a try hard just because I don’t quit games enough to be banned. You can quit every now and then. You even get a short ban as a warning. You must be wuitting all the time and that ruins the multiplayer aspect of the game. It’s really hard to win when your teammates quit. What do you not understand about that? If you don’t have 15 minutes to finish a game them don’t start it! It’s called thinking ahead.

I must be doing something wrong.
I grew up with Halo, got a family, a now 2 year old son, I take my responsabilities seriously, work, son etc. Yet I haven’t been banned at all.

Oh yes I can really think ahead when the power goes out man thanks for the pro tip.
