Remove Ordinance Drops?

In Halos One through Reach, weapons and powerups were spawned evenly across the map in fixed locations, and each team fought for control over them to gain the upper hand. In Halo 4 this changed, and killstreaks rewarded you with ordinance drops.

How would you feel if Halo 5 removed Ordinance Drops entirely, and reverted to the original method of spawning weapons & powerups across the map?

It would be a huge step in the right direction. Initially, Ordnance was your main source of power weapons if you played well. After they reverted from Random spawning power weapons to static spawning power weapons, Ordnance just floods the map with power weapons and power ups that gets too hectic.

On top of it, it’s random tendency of essentially saying, “Nah. You’ll be fine with crap.” tends to get me a tad livid at times. It’s probably best for it to meet the same fate as Armor Lock.

I’d say POD and the resulting lack of weapon placement on map is actually what bugged me the most in h4. I can live with load outs (though PP and PG need get out), and perks (though i’d prefer them gone too), but POD just changed the whole flow of the game.

The only thing I “enjoyed” about Ordnance Drops was when I’d smash someone with the drop pod.

That was it.

I think weapons should be spawned on map, however I would like it if how they “spawned” on map was via the ordnance drop instead of magically appearing, especially for power weapons. It would also be amusing if the drops still were lethal, catching the careless players and players that camped too close to the weapon spawn.

As for personal ordnance drops, I feel that was a broken system that should be done away with.

Yes remove care packages

Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of OD’s.

I aint gonna buy it if there is any kind of ordinance -Yoink-…

Again I think they should keep it. But only as a custom option, and certain playlists. It adds an element of randomness that does nothing but hurt the games fluidity. Not knowing what’s out there and who has what makes it so people can’t plan on anything which is bad for any team based game.

It also gets rid of the meta game of the fight for power weapons. With the old static spawns people knew where they were and potentially when they would come up. This allowed players and teams to have to fight for possession of these items. Adding another element to gameplay.

Alright, hear me out. I’m one of the guys who thought ordinance drops were stupid too, but a lot of people like them or just don’t mind them as well. So, instead of completely trashing the concept, keep it as its own separate playlist. A lot of variety could have been kept in Halo 4 if they hadn’t ditched so many game-types that people liked in previous games (ex: race, assault, invasion, traditional zombies, etc.).

If there’s a return of Social/Ranked playlists like H3, I’d say “maybe” if they were restricted to the Social half.

If Firefight returns, I’d append my previous statement to “Restrict it to FF only”

So much yes. Ordinance drops need to go.

Other.
Have them as custom games settings.
And it could stay as it’s own playlist or in action sack
