What do you think of this a good or bad idea ? I notice people in modes like CTF , Oddball and Team Regicide Seem to go for kills rather then play objectively. I know some people only play them game modes for kills and I believe that’s wrong. If you wanna play for kills play Slayer. However I do notice some people do it out of fear of there k/d dropping.
I think it would be a great idea to remove K/D from these playlists How about you yes or no ? Vote with poll and give your reason why in Comments
I believe by removing K/D’s people would definitely play more objectively and it would speed up the game.
KoTH is the game mode I see where most people dont go for the objective.
Remove K/D ratio altogether and add a win/loss ratio, I’m tired of people not playing to win, I never care for kills. K/D ratio doesn’t mean anything anyway.

This game is geared more to get kills, that’s the problem.
If a player gets consistently 10-20 kills more on a loosing team then the top player on the winning team, he will be in the long run getting more credits and raking faster from the extra kills and commendation payouts.
Simply winning has not enough incentive. It gives you only a couple hundred more then a loss. The more kills players get offset the fact that they loose.
Or you implement a visible ranking system so that people only care about winning. It´s crazy how many problems would be solved with a ranking system and it´s still being ignored.

Assuming that people play for their K/D ratio in which case this is a great idea. That behavior is directly responsible for a lot of crap in the online population because it selects for anything which isn’t essentialy assinine.

“The flag’s ripe for the taking, but -Yoink- that! I can’t risk my spree for such a trifle as playing the game as intended.”
Even if MOST PLAYERS (which is laughable by the way) abandon team objective because of change in stat reporting that change will be for the playlists ultimate benefit because those who remain will be able to provide a much more consistently enjoyable experience than any of those who think the goal of any gametype is to simply kill more.
And I’m for nuking K/D for all non-slayer gametypes. 343 needs to be a hell of a lot more mindful than bungie about just what behaviors they’re engineering.
I agree to a point… some play… don’t bother about/ nor care about what their K/D is… Some take pride in what their K/D is and actually did hard work for it in Slayer.
Now, what makes K/D pointless is it averages it out over all the gametypes you play… so you could have a horrible day in Slayer or Regicide or something… and the nxt day Kill-Harvest on some CTF with AC/DMR or your choice… with enough playing it will balance out your K/D, but ruin it for others.

It’s is useless because people use this gametypes to boost the commendation like Pulse Granate or automatic weapon.
In a KOTH I was played 2 VS 4 and the enemy team stops at 140 and It uses the time left to boost thier kill/commendation. (I score 2/29)
So you have to remove K/D ratio and do not consider weapon kills towards commendation count.
