That vid is pretty wild. The first bounce doesn’t make any sense, I wonder if it was a weird desync thing and the trajectory was corrected.
I’ll start looking for homing grenades.
Grenade homing (aim assist on bounces) was first introduced to the franchise in Reach.
As far as I knew it was absent in Halo 4 thankfully. I didn’t play enough Halo 5 to know if it was in that game or not. But it has felt like it’s been back in Infinite. It’s really easy to just chuck a nade and expect it to hit, without even considering where it’s going to bounce in this game. It actually feels stronger than Reach too, where Reach was a slight adjustment to the angle, Infinite feels like it just homes right in.
I could 100% believe they were in Reach as well. Very similar grenades. If we could get H3 nades in this game, I would be happy
I can see how far away the grenade is from me and it still strips my shields and basically, that’s it, one shot dead. The grenades are also very inconsistent the number of times I see players getting bounced around by grenade explosions, but never killing them, it is those times that make people wonder, what is going on, something is fishy. I think it’s possible there are people playing this game relying on everyone blaming desync. If 343 would fix the netcode in this game, (I’m laughing) some players would stick right out and would have nowhere to hide.

I used to have one that showed frags have a variable fuse now to help hit players too. I’ll post it if I can find it.
And it’s pretty generally known that spike grenade spikes will home in on players as they bounce too
we’re the same rank brah
Wish MY grenades homed in on people lmao.
Dude Same I swear I run forward and somehow that frag follows me even though I saw it go behind me
I’ve definitely heard Grenades bounce around for 5 secs then somehow land right on top of me
Not sure how that is relevant since I wasn’t talking to you but
This was a huge issue in h5 and funnily enough most of the pros complained about it whenever they could. Grenades literally follow you and magnetize towards players. Its part of the ploy to help the bottom of the barrel do better.
we shouldnt be to fast to belive evrything “pro players” ( or pretenders )claim . not specific to this claim, but the ammount of bs summ1t claimed concerning halo , while at the same time being at best around average at it ( talking mcc ) . if grenade homing is a thing then yes it should go as it cheapens combat , i may have not played enough infnite as i am 95% on mcc but i dont think i noticed the nades tracking players.
GRENADES TO RECEIVE UPDATE IN DROP POD NO.7
- Frag Grenades no longer home in onto players.
- Frag Grenades now explode after bouncing on ANY surface, just like in every game since Halo 3.
- NEW HOMING GRENADES are now made. Roll them on the ground to home in onto the enemy to deal equal damage to that of a Hydra Missile.
(satire of course . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . unless . . . . . .?)
I’m just blocking you hahaha. Summit isn’t a pro Halo player. It’s mind boggling how lost some people are, and try to downplay the position pro players are in out of jealousy. My God.
I noticed this with stickies almost immediately. No wonder they added so much more bounce to them. A sticky grenade will bounce in a direction that doesn’t make sense to the physics towards a player and stick them.
I guess it happens with frags too.
→ implying people like me who’ve never encountered don’t understand the game
→ but we’re the same rank
This is not a thing that intentionally happens outside player control. It doesn’t lock onto you. It’s just players aiming high for a big bounce and to curve it around corners for the reason you described. Grenades don’t lock on.
Should be easily tested. Go try it.
Please stop commenting if you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Yeah the nades have always been broken in halo 5 and infinite especially. It drives me nuts as even random nades can kill you after bouncing 17 times
They dont chase that hard honestly. Dont push the enemy so much and you will have a better time.
