I should have posted long before.
With H5 Forge released on PC and bring players together for fun custom games, shouldn’t H5G receive update to remove “GOLD Only” restriction for Forge?
Players should have rights to download and play custom games with/out xbox live gold and that local server app.
We paid for the game yet we can’t access most features, is it reasonable?
Halo 5’s Forge is the biggest the series has ever seen so making it accessible without Silver/Gold membership would require you to download a TON of resources onto your hard drive, which would be extremely taxing for those who play tons of games outside of Halo 5.
I agree seriously sliver members can only play campaign ( which is terrible) in halo reach silver could play campaign, firefight ,even complete the campaign weekly challenges, forge, if they had people to play with they could by stillscreen and systemlink
al even forget about the campaign commendation
Agreed, and I think the same can be said for Custom games

Does Halo 5 Forge PC has the same issue? If not, what supports your theory?

Even the Halo 5 Forge app for Windows 10 requires an online connection to play. You cannot play Halo 5 Forge offline on Windows 10.

So PC players can play without Gold? Then what are the Xbox players paying for?!

Halo 5 Forge on Windows 10 is only the Forge and Customs experience. There is not Warzone, no Arena, no matchmaking, no Campaign, no REQs. You can only play Forge/Customs Browser, and you can only play with other Halo 5 Forge Windows 10 players (no crossplay).
So no, you don’t need Gold to play Halo 5 Forge Windows 10. If all you want to play is Customs and you have an adequate PC, then there is no need to buy Halo 5, an Xbox, or Gold.
Xbox players are paying for the full Halo 5 experience.

If it had split screen heck yeah but Xbox live’s gimmick is to play with friends online and since split screen doesn’t exist for halo 5 well it’s never going to happen no other way to say it really

Kind of agree, I think the problem is 343i was trying to force online only when the Xbox One was coming out so this was H5 was planning to do for everything so sure it should have offline modes.

It’s really not. It’s the smallest in the series plus it’s poorly optimised too. I’m actually baffled as to why the file size is so big, yet the game lacked a lot of content for a long time…the game download should already being including the entire game so I seriously doubt it would need a ton of extra resources, which is odd because I’m sure PC gamers can get Forge running offline while we can’t on X1.

Because I paid for the game. What is the Gold for then if a PC player can do the same thing albeit with only two modes? Doesn’t seem fair.

I didn’t ask or say anything that would warrant this response. Everyone who plays Halo 5 on Xbox is in the same position as you.

That is one of the major differences between console and PC gaming. Every gaming console online service (even Nintendo, as of this fall) costs money to use. PC does not. It has long been this way; why, no one knows. It’s a question that goes beyond Halo and Microsoft. If paying for Gold isn’t something you want to do, but you still want to do online gaming, your only choice is to switch to PC gaming. But all that is really beyond this topic.
I don’t think Halo 5 can do much because of xbox really pushing the whole “always online” crap at the start like ronnie42 said.
I think they should give the player the choice to download Halo 5 and Forge separately or together. Personally, I know lots of people who never play customs or Forge or anyting… But then I know other people who do and don’t ever play matchmaking. It would save time in downloading the game and/or all of the updates for it too. I literally know quite a few people who will not bother to play Halo 5 because it takes so long to download and even if they buy it on disc, it won’t help them as I told them because there still is a pile to download.
I think for Halo 6 they should make the game and Forge separate downloads and I do think forge and customs should be available without an Xbox Live Gold subscription. It’s such a joke how you can only play the campaign without an internet connection. Beyond ridiculous!!! I’m really tired of this whole “always online” or “always connected” garbage. Such a pain! I like the olden days where you bought a game, you can play and do everything on the game minus any online features, like play against someone from a different town, city or county or something.
Forge should be available offline and the Customs Browser should be available to Silver accounts. I mean, how come Customs can be played without Gold on the PC but not the Xbox? That doesn’t sound right, but it is.

Sure would be nice but at the same time I kind of wish Xbox Live was just free but doubt that’ll happen.
I think forge should be available offline but I don’t think silver level should be able to download anything. If you can download clearly you have a connection so why not just have a gold membership?
You seriously need Gold to use Forge? That’s ridiculous.

Having a connection means you pay the internet bill. Having Gold means you also paid for multiplayer.

Gold is only $60 a year, essentially one game. If you can afford internet and a Xbox one you should be able to afford gold.
