I want to make this post to petition to remove the Disruptor from the game. Shock Rifle is fine since it’s this game’s new extra sniper weapon I guess, that only one shots the head, but Disruptor sucks for both Vehicles and Spartans, and it should be scrapped in favor of restoring the Plasma Pistol EMP ability. Disruptor doesn’t need to exist. Plasma Pistol lost its purpose, and we already have Shock Rifle and Shock Grenades. Flying an air vehicle feels like utter garbage being shot out of the sky constantly. At least charging the Plasma Pistol was reasonably more balanced.
Maybe if they tone down the Wasp. Strongest vehicle in the game easily only countered by shock rifle spam, hydra, and scorpion tank. Otherwise sit in the sky, and spam missiles lol.
they won’t. “plasma” weapons don’t EMP. none others do either. it was a change for the better, but it still doesn’t explain why the disruptors accuracy/spread is so freakin terrible.

The Plasma Plasma and Disruptor need an overhaul to better fill their roles within the sandbox. In many ways the Disruptor is actually a bit too good when it comes to stopping vehicles, but the proximity EMP thing just doesn’t seem all that effective to be a usable function.
Likewise the Plasma Pistol is actually kind of an anti shield beast with the improved tracking and speed of the charged shot. It’s just kinda blah in every other aspect.
I guess that the Disrupter pistol was designed to support the team to stop/destroy a vehicle. It works against well against ground vehicle, but useless against the wasp.
I would like that the EMP effect would be restored to the plasma pistol.
I feel like there’s almost no tracking at all on the Plasma Pistol. I just hate seeing it in such a sorry state, and I hate getting the Plasma Pistol and Disruptor in Fiesta. They shouldn’t have split the weapon into two weapons, because now we have a shield dropper and a vehicle dropper, both being worthless against every other weapon in actual gun fights. They’re both support weapons with weak roles. Plasma Pistol was fine the way it was.
It’s interesting to see people evenly divided so far, so hopefully this turns a reasonable debate, so people can explain why they would rather have two separate support weapons instead of just the Plasma Pistol as it was. I just don’t like how 343 feels the need to constantly retcon everything from previous games
True, true, but I would like to encourage a mature debate over something I’d expect more people to be talking about, so maybe 343 will address the situation. There is definitely a balancing issue. Unfortunately, people are too busy ranting over cosmetics right now, and aren’t really focusing on the actual gameplay issues.
Yeah, the Disruptor is basically only a support weapon, and the Plasma Pistol is almost useless, since people know when you’re going to use it, yet it doesn’t have much tracking.
I don’t mind that they took its EMP ability away, but they should’ve given it something just as good.
If people don’t complain about what they’re doing with cosmetics, you’ll likely be seeing worse things coming in the future.
I’m not saying that the gameplay issues aren’t important though.
Trust me, I’m well aware of the situation with cosmetics in the shop, but if the game doesn’t work or feel fun, it’s just a store simulator. If 343 breaks the rest of Multiplayer trying to fix BTB, all we will be able to do is use the shop. The prices suck, cosmetics are lazy, it’s a bootleg Destiny, I’m still missing promo items, etc, but I’ve already gone over that, and people have probably made a hundred duplicate posts by now flooding the forums over the same issues. The mods aren’t doing a good job keeping the forums under control, unfortunately, so every time I try to address a new topic nobody is talking about, it gets immediately buried under duplicate posts. I’m hoping the forums become more situated so we can talk about more topics in a meaningful manner. I’ve never seen a forum so hectic until Infinite. I’m sure the mods are just overwhelmed, and it might calm down over time. I don’t particularly blame them, since I understand the situation.
