Remove Defend the Garage Until It Can Be Fixed

In the previous thread there were some things mentioned that I would like to address along with some things I have thought of. I also realize that what I said was written when I was angry so I didn’t properly think about why the objective is broken. Now I have.

  • The Garage is area that has little cover and easily gets packed full of Soldiers and Knights. Once they get in it becomes highly improbable to retake due to a Knight’s ability to 1 shot us and the AI’s Aim being so perfect that a Phaeton could hit a 3 Centimeter part of your head sticking out from behind a rock. - Auto Aim becomes a disadvantage at this point because if 2 enemies cross paths sometimes my aim will be pulled away from what I was shooting. - When faced with so many Knights, vehicles become useless because if you have a warthog in a area with little cover and so many enemies coming at you, the vehicle won’t last long - This relates to Escape from ARC. Another issue is that coming off a spawn, the Phaeton above the Garage will kill you really quick if you don’t get to cover which also means that is 1 player not going for the objective because they can’t get there without either dying or having no shields when they get to the Garage. This is while there are more enemies charging the garage and all the enemies inside the Garage. - The reason that the Garage is so hard to retake is because Knights and Soldiers take way more damage than their Campaign counterparts. Normally, Knights aren’t an issue because they are spread out but once inside the Garage, combined with the auto aim issue and so many other things drawing our attention it becomes most likely that we can take out all the Knights before time runs out. And if we do manage to do this, more Knights come to take their place - One issue was someone calling me out for not using REQs or using the wrong REQs. I don’t see the point in wasting REQS on this when all the points I’ve mentioned above means it’s highly unlikely I’ll kill something before I die. - On every other Defend the Armory/Fortress/Temple can be done easily. On Defend the Fortress and Temple, there is plenty of cover to use and vehicles can get in and out quickly. Defend the Armory is fairly simple because not many Knights choose to go in the Armory on March on Stormbreak, Skirmish at Darkstar and Urban.

get a rocket hog up top and have a person with a dmr and smg up there and go to town you can survive for at least 45 seconds or just get a whole bunch of ghost ultra sword and temple not the regular but preferably ultra

The simple solution here is to prevent the garage from being overrun. Of course you are going to lose if you can’t keep them out—that’s the point of the objective. Get your hogs and ghosts out and run over the soldiers and crawlers as they pop up and have one or two people focus power weapons on the Knights. It’s tough but certainly doable. That’s the way it should be.

OK, ONE FXCKING EASY TACTIC TO DEFEND THE GARAGE.

  1. REQ a Scout Warthog
  2. Drive it to the second floor Access Point.
  3. Park the Warthog and make a cornor by the Warthog and the Access Point.
  4. Jump out of the Warthog, crouch at the cornor. DON’T DO ANYTHING STUPID.- by Cpt.Macmillan.
  5. Sing some song, Go sleeping, Let the 5 mins pass.
    ╮(╯▽╰)╭

Why Scout Warthog?
Because there is always some silly stupid random player like to drive others parking warthog away.

Why this work?
Because if the warthog is empty, the AI won’t shoot it.
And if the AI can not see you directly, It won’t shoot you.
And if anything is near a Player in about 3 meter, it will not disappear.

Req and Couch.
╮(╯▽╰)╭

BTW: There is another way not 100% working but 85% working for me.
Crouch at the middle of the stairs.
Just stay there, 5mins pass.
Goodbye stupid AI ╮(╯▽╰)╭

Is this true? In halo 4 and 5 it dosn’t seem to be the case at all…

It is true.
Try that at least once.
Sometimes we have 4 people in a fireteam stay together at the cornor.
And watch others players spawn die spawn die spawn die →_→

“Git gud”

But in all seriousness, yes defend the garage is hard but not impossible.

You gotta use your reqs. By round 3 when that round normally occurs, you should have at least level 5 reqs.

We lost the garage, I thought it would be impossible to retake but I spawned a plasma caster spammed the inside from I think red tunnel then headed inside and up onto the stairs. Some of my teammates even followed and then we won the round.

Determination, teamwork and patience pays off. Also explosives.

If I ever decide to go back to Halo 5, I’ll give it a shot for sure.

Point is, you have to been in the range since the item is there.
For example, if you jump out of a warthog, and stay near it, it will not disappear.
But if there is a empty warthog on the field, you run to it. It can still disappear even you are just few meters away.

Not only vehicles but also weapons.

For me, there is one time in a warzone game, I have do defend my team’s armory on my own to let all others can attack enemy armory.
I just camping inside, kill about 8 player try to come in.
Until the game end, took about 5 mins since the first one get killed by me, those victim’s weapon are still inside the armory.

There is one flaw to your theory. Most people don’t use microphones and those who do usually need to be muted because they are just making annoying noises. People are really stingy with their REQs as well.

In my story, I was completely solo. I never told anyone to come with me, we all just had a common goal to get inside the garage.

People have gotta stop being so protective of their reqs. When it’s an emergency. It’s usually worth using. Even if its only a level 3 req. It’s not like you won’t get another one

Don’t you already have a thread on this?

I’ve had decent luck clearing out the bottom of the garage with the White Scar a few times.

I feel you. The changes have made it difficult to want to play. WZFF is especially frustrating at the moment

Thats the key phrase but no one wants to use their reqs I’ve noticed it’s usually me and two other people spawning in rockets or vehicles to kill them and every one is just using a BR. If people are not going to use req’s don’t play this mode.

They just need to make the game mode more accessible otherwise. It’s too tough

I have an idea that would make the game flow so much better and help with this objective. Allow us to choose where we spawn and also be able to spawn off teammates

> Don’t you already have a thread on this?

For reasons i cannot get into, the previous threads were locked. If i get into detail I am worried they’ll lock this thread. I am aware that spamming a thread is against the rules but I made this thread again so I can continue to talk about the issue as I feel this objective is seriously broken. my success rate of this objective including the beta I would guess is 15% and i feel that is unacceptable. I have tried so many different tactics. I don’t want to try the scout warthog tactic out of fear that a teammate will egt in, die and also get me killed. a similar thing happened in the beta when I parked a warthog behind one of the armorys so I could deal with the phaetons, but someone decided to get in and get me killed. told him i didn’t want a driver and he acted like i had just insulted his mother

If you’re struggling on REQ lv, any of the Warthogs are very good at taking out the Phateon and anything on the 1st floor of the garage. You basically can’t be stingy w/REQs.

The last time I played ARC, the Garage objective was super easy as I had a tank and parked in the tunnel. This protects you from the Phateon and keeps you far enough away from the AI spawns.

I fixed it. Use wraiths and ghosts. If you can, scorpion tank. Everyone should just definitely get in a vehicle and stay in the top floor. If you’re in a wraith, stay out of the phaeton’s sight.
