Remove BR recoil and switch to slow projectiles

Not for the first couple of years. When the balance patches happened - yes. That became very true.

Halo Infinite BR is well balanced. No changes needed.

Amazing how making the removing recoil of the BR and slowing the projectile down would kill Infinite even though it effectively just turns it into the Halo 3 BR only without the Halo 3 BR’s horrendous spread.

God forbid we make a weapon function more like it did in the most popular game in the series.

Not to mention this utterly bizarre notion that an Arena shooter can’t have projectile weapons? Or that projectile velocity doesn’t matter because it doesn’t play as big a role at close range?

Why would making certain weapons function more like they did in two of the 3 original games somehow turn into “343 making a change no one asked for.”

I’m begging you to come up with an actual argument against OP’s suggestion.

You want me to make an actual argument against OP’s suggestion?

Here is this golden quote to be my rebuttal -

“If it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it.”

The players already like the BR as it is.
This is LITERALLY the only person I have seen complain about the BR in Halo ever.
Changing something that is already in a good spot IS NOT going to help this game any better.

I have a feeling that the spread was a balancing thing, because getting cross-mapped by a BR when you don’t have a BR sucks. Kind of like right now with Halo Infinite. The BR in Infinite is a laser beam, and it shows.

The spread helped prevent that and gave more use-cases for the Carbine at longer ranges where that spread applied less. I honestly wouldn’t mind the spread variation coming back into play at longer distances.

I want whatever the OP is smoking.

Even the cartels and the C.I.A. wouldn’t mess with that contraband

This, 100%
Most of us get used to the BR of Halo Infinite

every halo has that. not just those two

Yes I think it is slightly overperforming at longer distances, where we could use a DMR or sniper.

My main criticism of the BR is it leads to tactical kind of matches, which I find quite boring. This is probably the most “milsim” Halo.

Anything making the BR more skillfull would be very mich appreciated. Right now it’s just a laser weapon with no trade off. Hell, even the h5 br was harder to use.

I agree with OP, the simple fact of the matter is that (effectively) hitscan weapons which can literally beam you from across a BTB map, have an outsized influence on both map and combat flow. Just imagine trying to move across Sandtrap in Halo 3 while being instantly pegged by a camper on the opposite end of the map holding the Infinite BR.

I can’t believe any self respecting Halo fan would point to Apex as a reason to keep projectiles out of Halo. 2/3 of the Original Trilogy games had fucntional projectiles. There’s no reason the series cant return to that, with some adjustments, of course. I can’t tell people what they can or can’t like, but it’s pretty self evident to my eye that projectile physics would be nothing but a benefit for the game, giving casual players more wiggle room, since they’re not being opressed by laser beams, and skilled players have another wrinkle to learn, one that makes gunplay far more dynamic and satisfying.

Thats the probelm. 343 went down the route to make the game as easy as possible to attract as much casual players as possible spending money in the store. AR, no FF, no collision, sniper glare, no nade jump, ping system instead of call outs, only one ranked PL… it all comes down to a flat learning curve. which leads to massive boredom after a short time.

The BR seemed good to me… the first 2 weeks. Sonce then it’s always the same, no learning curve what so ever. It all comes down to ping and FPS… and a little bit if movement.

heatwave is for close range, infinites ar is for medium range. Both can beat each other.

That same reasoning can apply to the ar and smg in halo 3.

The hearwave can also hit at midrange, too.

Nah bring back shot leading. Skill gap is tiny.

How about this?

Ranked H3 Playlist with near accurate H3 physics and gunplay.

“If it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it” So why did 343 add recoil and scope glare in the first place?

If you’ve not seen anyone complain about the Infinite BR, let alone “any BR in Halo ever” you need to take of your horse blinders. Otherwise I just have to assume your just trolling.

I have no idea why we should keep the game as is when you openly admit the game isn’t in a good spot? Why cater to a relatively small portion of players if you want to turn the situation around?

You have still not offered any coherent argument against OP’s suggestion. God forbid we give the BR some actual depth in Infinite and remove 343’s pointless additions.

i know but its risky to try and beat an ar at mid range.

They added recoil in the later half of H5 update cycle as a nerf.

Just saying, 343 isn’t always right in their assessments. Just look at the vanilla ravager. This game may be in a bad spot, but going around and changing random things just to mimic the feeling of a previous game doesn’t guarantee promising results.

Yeah, it may make you happy but what about everyone else?
