Remove the boltshot from loadouts and make it an ordnance drop.
They could just remove the charged up shotgun feature
That would require cahnging the commendations which i dont see happening. The damage and charge rate just needs to be changed. I think that a charge up should drain the whole clip that way when someone misses they need to reload or change weapons
I totally agree. People camp with it in CTF and its basically a mini-shotgun. However, there’s already commendations and skins for it. They should either nerf the range or bring your idea into the next Halo game.
Just tone down the range.

How is the boltshot …stupid? All it needs is a higher charge rate.
Yup, being able to have a One Shot Kill weapon in your loadout was a terrible idea in retrospect.
i understand that people dont want a one shot weapon as a loadout option, but i just think its that bad.
in my 3066 deaths only 22 are due to the boltshot. i rarely get caught off guard by “boltshot campers” and when i do it usually my fault for chasing into a tight spot unprepared.
Well, gathering from your ideas I got this.
-Smaller Range
-Longer Recharge time
-Shot should drain all your ammo

have you ever consider the boltshot taking out your shield and then switch to their primary to finish the job? that has happened to me many times. if the boltshot doesn’t kill you, their prim will. it’s like a mini shotgun/plasma pistol.
The bolt shot is not that hard to side-step if you can see them coming at you. If the are sitting behind a corner waiting for you there isn’t much you can do which is where it is really useful. If you’re chasing someone and they turn on you with the bolt shot after going around a corner thats your problem.
I think it should stay on because despite people whining it does take some skill to use due to having to time its charge to get the one shot kill. I believe they already fixed the instant reload glitch with it, but I could be wrong. I bring this up to let you know they do pay attention to it, but obviously it is working as intended or more radical changes would have been made.

its not all stupid. not wanting a OSK weapon in loadouts is a valid complaint.
but i will say since the boltshot is a thing, people should start learning how to deal with it in stead off just complaining about it. this forum if fulled to the brim with “nerf the boltshot” threads. i think 343 knows a lot of people are annoyed about it at this point.

it should stay, but the range needs to be nerfed. but then again, maybe the boltshot was meant to be like that to make commendations easier.

i see nothing wrong with using the bolt to drop your shields and melee/headshot for the kill.
people have been doing that with the PP forever. that is what your secondary weapon should be for IMO.
