Remove Betrayal Booting from Grifball

After playing a couple of games of Grifball it is worrying that betrayal booting is still enabled for this playlist. As anyone who has played Grifball in the past will know, it is very easy to betray fellow teammates in the midst of the chaos.

This needs to be fixed, as soon as possible. Absolutely stupid that some people could potentially face bans for this?

I haven’t had a chance to play yet, how many betrayals are needed for someone to start booting? Is it being betrayed twice, with the second time being given the option to boot the betrayer? If so, I think it should be around 4-5 times for it to work. Grifball is indeed chaotic, and accidents happen a lot, but I don’t think the booting should be taken out completely. There would be nothing to govern people killing their teammates for the lolz.

It’s the same as in other modes betray someone twice and then the third time you get booted. Already had this happen to me and was given the ban hammer after the second game.

I agree. It is two betrayals for a boot and I really don’t get how teammates can, with a good and clean conscience, boot someone for an obvious mistake. This is the most chaotic gamemode there is so IMO booting should be removed and instead you get a prolonged respawn time. 5 secs extra per betrayal. That would be fair. OR. Turn friendly fire OFF!!! But I’d rather go with the prolonged respawn. But booting in this CASUAL AND SOCIAL gamemode really should go.

That’s just messed up.

Here’s a temporary solution, hopefully 343 removes betrayal booting ASAP.

Man that sucks, definitely needs to be turned off for Griffball.

why dont 343 remove friendly fire in general from grifball? or arena? that way one stupid teammate cant go around betraying people and not get booted AND you cant accidentally kill your teammates.

I’ve heard it’s because way back in Halo 3, they tried that, and teams launched their ball carrier with the hammer.

Fix it 343. This is unacceptable

No, I played several matches yesterday and only got booted once.

Pro tip, be aware of your sorroundings and dont smash/sword like crazy, its really that easy.

Why on earth would you guys want betrayal booting off? you knwo what would happen if it was taken off right? how about teammates purposely betraying you over and over and over and over without any repercussions? like in past Halos?

I had this happen to me yesterday, a teammate was out to betray me over and over again just for fun, I promtly booted him when the option was given.

I bet if betrayal booting was removed we would see threads of people crying on how they were trolled and couldnt boot their betrayer.

Has 343 ever heard of disabling friendly fire?

Lol

Stuff like this is how you know whether a dev actually plays their own game or not.

Listen this man !

They can just disable the option to boot anyway.

I agree, although friendly fire would ruin the game, (by launching the ball holder to the goal), betrayal booting should be disabled…

remove betraying period then you would just have teammates non stop killing you

They should just disable team collisions. No teamkilling, no grav ham boosting, no problem.

Maybe before you respond you should check the last post, is that 1 1/2 years ago?
