If this was done, the game would be more challging, competive and ‘‘fun’’, as bloom would work proprly with no effects on it happing, and you would need you really try had when aiming, what do you think ???

Remove auto aim?? are you mad!? it would be impossible to hit someone never mind 5 shot someone if you did.
No they won’t remove auto-aim. 343 still has to cater to a large audience and the reality is that the majority of the people who buy and play Halo are not skilled enough to play without auto-aim.

Halo takes more skill then any other game.
If they’re removing auto aim, aiming will be IMPOSSIBLE: have you ever tried to kill a teammate while he’s moving? It’s the same thing.
>But I agree with bullet magnetism just on the DMR and sniper rifle
Auto-Aim being gone as well as bullet magnetism would be great. I know a lot of people want them to return to the classic Halo CE feel and these are two things that would do it. Halo CE had none of either and it was awesome.

CE on the xbox had both.
Only a few console FPSs don’t have aim-assist, and you’ll find such games have a low population, if any. It’s not because it adds more skill to the game it’s because it’s stupid. It’s like trying to ride a bicycle, only you’ve swapped the wheels for squares. You can try and say, “I have more skillz than you!” but in reality it’s just moronic.
Thumb sticks can’t offer precision, thus aim assist and bullet magnetism were needed. Don’t like them? Play the PC.
try shooting your teammate while he’s moving.
OP has never played a single console game without auto-aim.
Little does he realize it’s IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy the game without it.
While I agree sticky reticule is an important aspect of Console FPS gaming, Bullet Magnetism COULD see a massive reduction… Maybe even go away entirely in Reach.

CE and 2 also have both on the PC btw. They never removed it.
the problem with removing the magnatism is not only that more than half the people would no longer be able to aim most of the weapons, but most of the weapons would need a huge firepower boost to make up for most of their bullets missing. things like the assault rifle or plasma repeater would literally become useless, the needler would make no sense, and all combat would have to be done in close range to have even a semblance of the current kill times… it wouldn’t be fun.
Well it would be impossible to kill if you take it off but I agree that it needs to be lowered.
It is to easy to snipe and fight in a DMR battle in Reach
It should be more like Halo 3
A console FPS could technically work without auto-aim and bullet magnetism, but it would require incredible skills even to hit an opponent. Gameplay would be super slow as everyone would spend at least thirty seconds trying to kill their opponent. Now add the lag caused by online play to that and you have an impossible and extremely annoying game. Auto aim and bullet magnetism are something that are needed for console FPS and especially online play.

Pretty much this. I would like them to lower the aim assists/bullet magnetism though, and at least have an option to turn off aim acceleration. Closer to CE levels would bring back some of the aim skill.
Oh, and a Kb+M user could destroy someone playing the same game with an xbox 360 controller as it allows for more precision and faster movements(twitch shooting).
Paratic is right. This is a very high skill game, higher then almost any other game out there (and i do not mean cod).
You need some aim assist an magnetism. Especially over xbox live.
They can try to tone it down some but thats all.
As others have stated, un skilled players surpasses the numbers in skilled players and that is whats catered to.

CE had both Auto-Aim and bullet magnetism. These two systems are what allow FPSs on console to work, and why CE is remembered as such a monumental achievement.
Im sorry but this would be terrible, try team killing someone with the DMR. You will almost never get a 5 shot and the game would devolve into meleex2 taking over and it would be no fun. Sounds like a good idea for skill but in practice it really wont work.

I believe you mean sticky-reticle, not auto-aim. That’s all I have a disagreement with.

Auto-aim, aim assist, sticky reticle… I’m pretty sure they’re all synonymous.
