I can defend it and I have rarely used it.
Although part of my defense would be about specific gametypes and nerf suggestions to make the AA overall better.
Oh boy here we go again! Another thread about AL geez it’s not that big of a deal don’t rush and you’ll kill the user, it’s as simple as that! And no I don’t use it. Its put in there as a counter to vehicle splattering and what seems to be half the games population that plays halo as a first person grenadier rather than shooter. And yes some people are not as good as you OMG what a terrible thing.
Can’t and won’t happen. There are 2 achievements tied to it.
Armour Lock should be removed from playlists which don’t feature a Warthog, or Ghost, if it is strictly mongooses, then it should be removed as Armour Lock was intended to stop a vehicle from killing you, not to get a 6 second delay button.

The only playlist armor lock should be in is BTB. Every other playlist should lose AA loadouts and make them all pickups, similar to equipment from Halo 3

I disagree and could list other portions of Halo that are far more disappointing and worse.

JP, banshee backflip bombs, spawn trapping and a few others are highly abused, just by different players, should those be removed too?

I suppose before I can offer myself up as a canadite, you will have to define “honest non-cheep player”. As far as my qualifications, over 9000 rejection medals should suffice, whenever anybody is ready, I will defend the AA Armor Lock relevant logical reasons for it insertion into a game.
Simple questions concerning AL’s presence in MM.

God I hope not…
It has it’s place, and when used properly, is one of the most effective AA’s out there.
There is a way to counter it, and take someone out of it , and its great for BTB with all of the vehicle noobs.
In the now infamous words from the original Halo Forms…ADAPT, and learn how to use it, and counter it…you’ll play better, and sleep better at night.
Shouldn’t be used in anything besides BTB? I can think of other good uses for it. (The only way to) sword block since the TU. Is the sprint + sword cheap? Of course it is. And yet it’s still there. How about the grenade spammers? It worked great against those cheap idiots with the original settings. The simple thing is that instead of learning and adapting your play style against it, most people complained about it til they got their update. There are ways around it. Just like there are ways to get around a shotgun camper or camo sniper

I meant that literally…
Early today I was playing invasion, was betrayed for the banshee, and the “kid” just flew in circles, and doing flips, never got a kill with it, and was yelling via game chat about how cool he was…That is a Vehicle Noob, and you and I have BOTH seen them in this game, and far too often.
Just like those in BTB that just race around the map, in a Ghost, trying to spatter everyone down, regardless of what team their on…again, a Vehicle Noob.

Honestly I have a better solution: remove you from matchmaking. If you have a problem with reach and the way it plays then go play halo 3. Stop trying to ruin a perfectly good game for others because you lack the skill to outsmart someone using armour lock.
I do believe they are also the same Vehicle Noobs in reach who often scream about Armor Lock. Atleast when they run into some Armor Lock Spartan who looks at them, looks away and puts on a ‘I didn’t see you come splatter me act’ The Veh. Noob sees that ‘BOOST AND SPLATTER HAHAHA’ Armor lock, KABOOOM I’ve yet to have that tactic fail against Splatter prone ghosts.
Digressing from that, I find Armor Lock to work well in most playlists with lots and lots of players. But when it’s say, a free for all; it is a serious problem. It’s just an issue of wether it’s appropriate on the level/the playlist. A similar argument could go for the placement of Jetpack because it commonly breaks map flow.
The only time i’ve had a problem with Armor Lock is in the smaller maps/playlists. For the most part it never bothered me and i found it a usefull tool for when i felt inclined to put it to use. Of course from the sound of things now putting on armor lock to contend with a Spawn camping banshee/Scorpion would do me very little good.

I feel your pain. Armor Lock is easily the most abused Armor Ability. Disrupts the flow of combat, and it’s pretty cheap how some people choose to use it.
