I kid, I kid. I say this because there is no need for them. All they do is make it take longer for people to scroll to the better weapons. Both AR and Storm Rifle are surpassed by the Supressor, but nobody uses that either.
Carbine is completely surpassed by the DMR, Light Rifle and BR.
Don’t spin me some crap about how you’ve killed so many people with these weapons. Using them puts you at a disadvantage in this game. If you use a carbine to beat someone with a DMR, that means they suck at aiming.
Although leaving the AR and SR wouldn’t be a bad thing. At least then I’d get to choose the look of my peashooter.

While we’re at it let’s remove all weapons and we’ll resort to sprinting at each other and using collision for damage.
I agree with OP. Why bother adding mounted machine guns in the map, vehicles and ordnance drops? Well yes a rocket launcher can beat a DMR/BR, however, if he misses? or just strips shields off? Boom! The rocket user is dead by one easy headshot. Everything is useless except BR and DMR. It’s just so stupid!
I try to use the things I just listed because I want variety and not the same boring donkey BBRGGH BRRGGH BRGGHH/BAM BAM BAM sounds. But i just get dominated all the gosh -Yoink!- time!
343 pretty much has removed all weapons except the DMR from the game. DMR is god tier, and anyone not using it is at a disadvantage. It’s pretty annoying that the loadouts lack diversity.
I used to love using the CCarbine in H3. Now I whenever I pick it up I sigh as my fresh dead corpse drops it seconds after my first duel.
> While we’re at it let’s remove all weapons and we’ll resort to sprint at each other and using collision for damage.
When my friend and I found this in Spartan Ops, it was a game changer. Can’t do it in campaign. But MM? Idk. Game changer.
SR IS trash. Along with the AR. They have potential, but they need juiced up a hair. Carbine I’ve no problem with, especially when more than one person is using it, it’s a team killer.
Ok, this is a prime example of bad community. Halo will die if we just want to keep the peashooters in. In fact, Halo became less fun the minute ALL battles were turned into, stay at distance and side step shoot.
Halo used to be, Assault Rifle, grenade, carry on shooting, is he dead? No, move in for the melee.
Halo 1 and 2 used to have this before they bought over powered precision weapons into the game.
People wonder why a lot of the fan base has fallen, you only have to look at how the game back in the old days was played, to now. It’s actually not skill using a DMR, it’s very easy to stay back, protected picking off players. That is not fun and is not Halo.
If anything, the DMR should be an ordinance weapon and then see how much the game changes.
Any money, old school fans would enjoy the gameplay a lot better.

Not sure if serious or troll. Did you even PLAY Halo 1 or 2? If you ever used anything besides the pistol in Halo 1 or the BR in Halo 2 then you were just plain asking to die.
Do you remember 1v1s on Wizard in Halo 1? I do, and there wasnt an Assault Rifle to be found if both players had more than 4 braincells and knew what the pistol did.
TIL Halo became less fun the moment Keyes gave you a pistol in Halo 1.
I’m tired of people whining, there are so many nonsense threads like this one that I’m scared 343i won’t read any thread anymore, even those that actually matter.
Let’s remove the AR, SR and Suppressor… And the BR and DMR and… Don’t remove any primary weapon, they’re fine they way they currently are. Personally I have no problem against AR, if I lose against one I know it’s not because it’s OP but because of the range/I missed all my shots etc.
Mmmmm… How about no? Those weapons are in the game to help beginners adjust. They are also used by those who prefer fun over skill. I’m sorry you can’t handle keeping out of an Assault Rifle’s limited range.

there is plenty of reason to keep them. Automatics are not supposed to be utility weapons. The have an area that they work best in. Close.
the AR is an all around automatic. Storm rifle is good at shredding shields the best. Supressor does the most damage of the 2 but is incredibly inaccurate.
And the carbine is vastly superior to the DMR due to its fire rate. If you can strafe well you can destroy the DMR and BR with the carbine.
Every weapon has a role. And no weapon is the best. Its all about what your good with. Sure you could say “that player was just bad” but thats just being pessemistic to try to prove a point that has no grounds. A highly skilled player can destroy anyone with whatever weapon they use.
That is how halo has always been and how it is in halo 4.

Most of that is false. The storm rifle breaks shield ONE shot before the AR and THREE before the suppressor but I THINK that both the AR and SUP have a faster firing rate than the SR.
It’s hard to strafe a DMR because if their reticle turns red, their hitting you. They don’t really have to even aim just spam at head level while the Carbine with it’s MID-ranged reticle is EASILY strafed because it’s inconsistence and your kill will be left to luck. Look up MLG Primary Breakdown, they know how weak the carbine is, if you beat a DMR/BR they were either weak or bad.
Every weapon does have it’s role: it’s called the DMR because it’s consistent at all ranges were most weapons like the Carbine are inconsistent in their own ranges.
The weapons are not balanced, DMR’s beat saws at mid range, mainly because the SAW is basically an AR with a deep clip and possibly a higher fire rate.
Carbine: Give it a long range reticle.
BR: Give it a faster kill time then the DMR. Optional make it for shot kill so long as it kills faster than the DMR and doesn’t surpass the Carbine in Kill time it’ll be balanced.
SR: Increase shield Damage.
AR: Make the spread manageable.
Machine guns should have a med range reticle with kill times faster than the DMR and slower than the BR.
After these changes the Primaries will be balanced.
> Storm rifle is good at shredding shields the best.
Oddly enough, the Storm Rifle is terrible at shields. Well, not terrible, just not as good. It absolutely rips health. It’s the in-between of the AR and Suppressor in terms of damage, accuracy, and rate of fire.
Let’s remove sprint and the double melee.
Seriously, it pisses me off so much that I could get a spree using vehicles, my DMR, tactical throws of grenades and keep it up while some punk runs up to me and punches me twice. I think a Spartan can take a few punches!!

glad somebody said it thats what I think to myself everytime I see these threads about changing or removing weapons
Up close isn’t mid range. Up close is double melee range, which beats at close range weapons if your smart with it you can even take out shotguns. But melee is the reason why Machine guns and the Saw should be optimized for mid range encounters.

The automatic weapons still beat the DMR at the length of a Warthog. Maybe more.
That is obviously not medium range.

So what’s the role of a Carbine suppression? Which is code for “Goodbye kills, hello assists”. What about machine guns, with grenade + precision weapons, stick grenades or melees machine gun users will have hard time trying to get kills without dying.
“The automatic weapons still beat the DMR at the length of a Warthog. Maybe more.

You could argue that you must use the guns in their ranges (Close range) but any skilled player will jump back and headshot you. Jumping cause you to miss several shots but that counters every weapon, but jumping backwards knocks machine guns out of their range and makes them less effective. Show me a Mlg tournament were someone uses a Storm Rifle. They don’t use it because its garbage when compared to other guns its even bad as a support weapon. It’s not about roles because the DMR fits every role, so why use anything else.
