I don’t know if 343i noticed, but the people who complained about not being able to play DLC maps weren’t exactly complaining about the lack of Anniversary maps in matchmaking. After all, it only takes five seconds of thinking to realize that there’s already FOUR FREAKING PLAYLISTS DEDICATED TO ANNIVERSARY.
Hint: When 3 of the latest achievements are Defiant map pack related, which maps do you think people are going to want to play? Solitary? Are you kidding me? If you’re going for the “You blew it up Achievement,” why the hell would you want to play on…oh, I don’t know, Hang em High?
Highlands and Condemned don’t show up - at all. The one time it showed up yesterday when I was playing Squad DLC, everyone voted it down in favor of Tempest, a noble map which doesn’t even have any achievements tied to it. And that’s right after freaking Ridgeline and Penance showed up one after the other.
But anyways, please, for the love of god, take out all Anniversary maps from all of matchmaking. Leave Noble and Defiant maps for Squad DLC.
This benefits the game in two ways:
A) More players will play Squad DLC, boosting the population and generally allowing for faster matchmaking. There’s already a thread on Bungie.net of a player complaining that he can’t play in Squad DLC simply because he didn’t have the Anniversary map pack.
I agree. All I want to do, is play Defiant and Noble, but the Anniversary maps always get chosen. Like you said there’s already playlists for Anniversary.
Even though I still cannot access the Defiant map pack months after paying/ downloading… this does seem like a good idea. I’m sure if I could use the maps I’d want to play on them more frequently.
i dont see the big deal. ive played almost nothign BUT highlands and condemed eve since playing that playlist. besides you cant get those achievements in them anyway cuz they aren’t slayer types there objective types. so doesn’t that make it kinda moot complaining you can’t get the achievements in that playlist in the first place?
heres a solution. just go into that playlist and find people that still want the achievements. have a lobby of just you 8, and have 1 person delete the anniversary map pack from their hard drive and play objective. problem solved.
Meh I don’t care either way really. I like having them all together. I have indeed played a good variety of all of the maps. Played a few times on Condemned, Highlands, and Tempest. Have only seen Anchor 9 come up once and well Breapoint is rather lame outside of objective to me so I’m glad I have not played it again yet. But I also had a few rounds of Breakneck and Ridgeline thrown in and I was happy with that. Besides, you would only be able to get the achievement for assassinating someone exiting armor lock anyway in this list. (Only if someone lets you have it anyway).
Also just a thought… using the “you blew it up” achievement as any kind of reasoning here to remove half the maps in this list, or any other objective related achievement for that matter, is just a silly thought. The complaint shouldn’t be take these maps out, it would be add in objective. Besides, there was a DLC list out after Defiant came out that had the smaller Noble maps in it as well and nobody wanted to play those then. Why would they basically repeat an old playlist with no changes at all just because the vocal minority wants it?

the real issue is that squad DLC uses default reach instead of the TU and has AR/mag starts.
