If people want to play something that forbids automatic weapons, there’s Team Throwdown for that.
It’s completely annoying how there’s a gametype that removes an entire class of weapons, especially when you’re trying to work on the commendations for it. The whole point of having BR/DMR start gametypes in Halo 3 and Reach was because you didn’t actually have a choice of starting weapon. Now that you do, what’s the point of Slayer/Rumble Pro? It just caters to one specific group of players and locks out all others from their preferred playstyle. Everyone just uses the BR anyway, so it’s not like you’re actually doing much by voting for Pro.

So why would you care if there’s a gametype that excludes weapons that are useless anyway?

That’s exactly why I hated Team Rockets in Halo 3. It only catered to one specific group of players and locked out all others from their preferred playstyles!

I wasn’t aware Rumble Pit still had Rumble Pro, but I do know that Slayer Pro doesn’t exist anymore.
Legendary and Rumble Pro are played so seldom I really don’t think it is an issue. Especially if your reason is not being able to work on those particular weapons for commendations.
Also your statement to just go to Throwdown doesn’t really suffice as well, in my opinion, mainly because Throwdown is different from Legendary and Pro mainly because of no radar; not to mention the general skill level of the players in that list. For those of us who are average players, but do appreciate the occasional change from Infinity the only option left to us at the moment is the occasional Legendary or Pro game.
Now I would have liked to have seen Legendary stay as its on separate playlist. I advocated for this, and so did a few others. However, we were in the minority and the population count did not “warrant” the need to keep it as such, in 343’s opinion.
It is what it is. Not everyone can be accommodated and pleased. Myself included. I understand where you are coming from. I have one weapon left, the Plasma Pistol, and I only work on it in Rumble Pit. So occasionally I do play a Pro game, and have to find a PP to pick up to use, but I don’t mind. I am NOT playing just for commendations. I play because I like Halo in general. I am not going to ask that the minority of players, still playing, who like Pro and Legendary, for those options to be completely removed just so I can finish this last weapon. One game out of many is not that big of deal in the long run.
I don’t see the problem. Whatever game mode gets picked a good player will be able to prevail regardless of the starting weapon they are forced to use.
Firstly, Team Throwdown is different from the rest of the playlists. Not everyone wants to play that, especially if they’re not in the mood of “try-harding”.
Secondly, as stated before, you have AR as your secondary weapon in Legendary gametypes.
Thirdly, if you think the AR is useless in Pro gametypes, how is it any more useful in other gametypes? People who vote for Pro gametypes will most likely use BR/DMR as their starting weapons in those game modes too anyway.
I’m sorry to break this to you, but removing the Pro gametypes would not fix this imaginary issue of yours. It would just give birth to new ones. Besides, removing these gametypes would not be fair to players who enjoy playing them.
You say these gametypes are dumb because they cater to a certain group of players and should be removed. Well, Infinity Slayer caters specifically to the more casual crowd which you seem to present. With your logic, Infinity Slayer should be taken out because it doesn’t appeal to the competitive crowd.
There will always be people who play on a different mindset than you do. You just have to deal with it, like everyone else does.
If anything we need MORE pro options! I don’t know why it’s still like this, but they seriously need to add more Pro into TS and RP. Legendary just isn’t enough for TS. It’s so campy and unbalanced due to the huge radar. No radar makes it take so much more skill and teamwork. ARs are beastly up close, it’s good to have in the pocket.

These playlist options are all we (the veteran players) have anymore. You have 85% of the game that is catered to your neo-halo gameplay. Stop complaining, it isn’t warranted from someone who can’t even appreciate what 343 has done for your type of player.
