i do miss the re-voit ghost recon and one other just cant remember the name… and i was so mad when they told us that halo 1 would not work and live so someone made up a work around that used your computer to be a link… it was alot of fun and lag…
I’ve only been with LIVE for something like 5 or 6 years.
I’ve been on Live since Day 0, was a beta tester from the very beginning. Man, things were different back then, thinking about it brings back memories. There was a really interesting panel at Halo Fest that reminisced on the early days of Xbox Live and the Halo 2 launch - playback here: http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/08/28/halo-fest-xbox-talks-10-years-of-halo
I have been playing since 2007.
Well I’m not using my very first account since a couple of years. I remember drooling to play on Xbox Live; however my country was far from having DSL connections for households when Halo 2 came out in 2004.
When I had the DSL connection, (2005) I enjoyed Halo 2 for some time. I had to receive the Xbox Live cards from the U.S. to play online, and yes – that’s because my country didn’t have anything like that at the time. (My father was rather preoccupied about using a credit card at the time, luckily my friend was able to gift me a few months of Xbox Live)
Everything changed in 2006 when I obtained my first debit card. (Yeah, that took a while. Trust me. I fought with good grades and nails to get that) My Xbox Live career started over again, my original account was lost, and I had to make a new one. (I bought the cards online at the time)
The rest is history. I won’t mention my most old nicknames, because I was well… Young and stupid.
My latest Xbox Live account was “Dark Intellect” and now I’m planning to move as “Irudis” for the sake of the future.
Back to the thread. Well, I’m here. [waves]
I started Xbox Live with Halo 2. xP
“Making people rage quit since 2004.” xD
> Halo 2, two years after Live went…well, Live.
>
> I think.
>
> I’ve had my account for six years. >_>
Same here.
Star Wars: Republic Commando was my first game on Live. Shortly thereafter I added Halo 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront. I also played some Mech Assault.
Saber Khai
> i’ve only been on live for 2-4 years…
Same
mmmmm Counter Strike. I used to play that everyday back in the day. I’ve had live since the beginning as well.
Halo:2 a year or so after Live went live.
Halo 2: During Live’s Release
Had three different accounts made throughout the years though :S
rainbow six three was my first game online. then like everyone got on halo but i like ghost recon , rainbow six ect… since they where the games that started it my friends who started with halo dont like them witch is funny
Im on Live since 2009, but I play Halo CE on PC since the release
Joined Christmas 07 with halo 3, was a ps2 gamer.
> Before Halo 2, I didn’t really have a reason to buy Xbox Live. >_>
Before Halo 2, I didn’t even have an xbox.
no one played PGR 2. I loved cat and mouse games that the players made. I started live with PGR 2 in November 2003
> Rainbow six three here. Not black arrow, the original. Whole experience was so different back then, i had a crew and it was social as hell, actually got with my first gf through it who turned out lived 400ft down the street from me all along, beat that lol. 30% of matches would turn into running around whilst chatting, no killing, i will never replicate that now…apparently there was under 50,000 people on live TOTAL back then, and people used the mics. Ironically halo 2 coming out was the beginning of the end for live as a social experience, the crew drifted apart and i was left alone with hordes of randoms. Other old timers will tell you the same thing. manly tear

> Oh guess my account age too. Thats right, 7 years :]
Rainbow Six 3 was awesome! I’m not sure if you ever got into the modes people invented, but did you ever play “Predator”?
Speaking of modes, one of my favorites was Pandora Tomorrow’s Spy vs Merc MP (later perfected in Chaos Theory). Not sure if anyone else played the player invented “Tag”, but man that was a ton of fun!
I’ve been on Live for 7+ years now, and I remember playing all those OG live games. Times were different then. How different? I added a number in my Gamertag TO be “unique”, lol.
Crimson Skies was the first title I played. Then a -Yoink- load of Red Storm and MechWarrior games. Of course Halo2 filled the most game time (a bit of Gotham and Forza back with Halo2 too).
There was much more time to play it then. XBL sucks by today’s standards, but it rocked back then.
The first multiplayer I invested hundreds of hours into was Star Wars Battlefront. After that, of course, came Halo 2.
