I joined Live at about 12:15 am the day H2 released and crapped my pants 30 minutes later. I was playing Team Slayer 4v4 without having to round up TVs and Xboxes for a LAN party.
The extent of my online gaming before getting on Gears of War, Halo 3 and COD4 in 2007 were relegated to a few dial-up vs matches with some friends on C&C Red Alert, Hunter or Hunted and Duke Nukem 3D on PC around 98-99.
However, there is rarely a day I am not on Live since signing up be it gaming or Netflixing.
Rainbow six three here. Not black arrow, the original. Whole experience was so different back then, i had a crew and it was social as hell, actually got with my first gf through it who turned out lived 400ft down the street from me all along, beat that lol. 30% of matches would turn into running around whilst chatting, no killing, i will never replicate that now…apparently there was under 50,000 people on live TOTAL back then, and people used the mics. Ironically halo 2 coming out was the beginning of the end for live as a social experience, the crew drifted apart and i was left alone with hordes of randoms. Other old timers will tell you the same thing. manly tear
Oh guess my account age too. Thats right, 7 years :]

Seriously?
I met a girlfriend through Halo 2 who went to the same high school as me.
Quake 3 Arena for the dreamcast was my first online game. Then I played Ratchet and Clank 3 online for my PS2. And when Halo 3 came out, I bought an Xbox and Live membership, since I had enjoyed CE on PC.
Yeah dude no lie. Actually thinking about it, guess how long the relationship lasted? 7 MONTHS -Yoink-! Halo has been controlling my life since H1!
and in the halo context 7>8 dude

I know someone who was in xbox live since it was actually in beta…the whole service not just a game. Back when there were max. 5000 people allowed in and the only online game you could get was re-volt and MS engraved your gamertag onto actual metal dog tags and send it to you in a little orange case with the beta boot disc so that you could wear it and feel badass while you played re-volt over and over. Google it.
Hows that, do i win
