Remember When

Remember when the community was almost up in arms about reach, between not having the BR, the addition of armor abilities (manly AL) and BLOOM! Flash forward to today and people are having similar complaints between the new ADS system, Ground pound and the spartan Charge and the aiming system. People are actually talking about Reach as if it is a beloved Halo game. Which sure it is now, but it seems as though people just don’t like change. Even if it is necessary to keep the game fresh. I’m not trying to hate, I don’t hate nor do I love Halo 5. I just find it interesting. What about you, do you remember when the community wanted to hang Bungie for making Reach.

Better question do you remember when so many people hated halo 2 because it was too different? Or the concept of equipment in Halo 3?

This sort of thing happens with every Halo game. Different people complain about different things with every game, but they’re perceived as a whole community, a single entity, so it can seem like people are just complaining endlessly.

I do lol, I feel it wasn’t as bad because of addition of online mulitplayer.

It was Bob Dylan who said, “the times they are a-changing”. Give it time and by the time the next Halo comes out, maybe people will consider Guardians to be a beloved game as well.

I like Bob Dylan, and I like the new Spartan abilities.

halo fans are like girls. naggy as f**k and never satisfied

Actually, I still want to hang Bungie for making Reach. The game sucked in all the departments that mattered to me. Halo 5 is okay but I just don’t like 343 as a studio. They don’t seem to know how to do simple things.

People will always complain and throw tantrums. Developers just should go and focus on making the game they want to make with feedback and constructive criticism rather than a “X, sucks lol 343i broak da halo!” players can summarise it in a much better way: “X sucks, because when other players use Y, condition Z happens. please remove it from map A.”

Judging by the ever decreasing population from Halo game to Halo game going from Reach to 4 to 5 (pretty much a continuously downward slope), how much are these “fresh features” grabbing the attention of the public?

I’m sure fans of Halo 5 will find it to be a beloved game, all 20,000 of them.

Honestly I was pleased when armor abilities were added.

I feel like that’s why 343i realised Halo 5 unfished, they wanted to listen to the community and make slight changes. In my mind it’s working out a bit better than I first though. I could be wrong though

I just find it funny that as an old fart I have the benefit of seeing each new Halo being declared the worst ever and then being the pinnacle of excellence a few years later. Each game has had flaws; flaws that need or needed fixed. Most of the time they were, but the whinging has remained constant.

If Bungie makes a Halo game= People love it. If 343 makes a Halo game= People nag about it.
