I don’t think the Halo community was criticizing his take because he wanted a BR. What they were criticizing was that he thought the arena mode could not stand on its own and 343i had to make a BR for Halo to be successful again. Fast forward to now, game is dead compared to launch so it did in fact die without a BR. But I don’t think it’s in its current state because it’s an arena shooter and not a BR, rather it’s because of the lack of content, feautures, and the way 343i is handling it. If they release a BR, I really doubt that is somehow going to save Infinite because those issues will still be there. They need to fix the game and add content to gain back players, BR or not. If the BR is good, people will play that. If arena is good, people will play that. I think it’s that simple.
Nothing wrong with having a BR on HALO infinite, but what about FIX the coop on HALO MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION and give us COOP on INFINITE?
That’s nonsense. Halo Infinite failed due to lack of content and because of 343i lied about the progression system. It has nothing to do with BR mode and it certainly irritating that you would push this agenda when DD was talking nonsense because that’s all he ever seems to want in any game regardless of how bad/lazy the game type is known for. If BR has to be forced on us then the game may as well be dead. I’ve had enough of the genre of awful BR games ruining it for the rest of the industry due to lazy cash grab games marked as BR.
Summary
And this is why we usually dont listen to your comments your a hard driven fanboy each and every topic youve ever commented in is proof of that i mean heck to see your replys i have to actually click on the hidden reply and i dont even have you blocked.
You murdered him lmao
You pour all your trust into a company that refuses to give its workers good treatment, fair wages, benefits, or its “customers” a good functioning franchise of games?
Dr.D still doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If infinite was an actual complete game and not…whatever this mess is, then Halo would have been perfectly fine. We don’t need yet another generic battle royal mode.
Wow. And you know why I don’t take you all seriously?
Because you take nothing and turn it into something. You couldn’t wait to just blast someone for daring to trust the company you hate.
You just can’t wait to take off with whatever idea pops up in your head.
Yeah this HyperLethal guy is a fanboy. Yeah he must support the terrible wages devs receive because he doesn’t agree with me. He must support something terrible. Like, have you even bothered to ask me about these things?
I would have told you. You all don’t know me at all.
Dude. This has nothing to do with that. I’m for the hard working devs. Not the CEOs who don’t want to pay anyone and consistently make terrible decisions normal devs are hounded for.
Wow. I figured you all were smarter than this. Guess I was wrong.
He didn’t murder anyone. He simply made a statement he knew fools like you would eat up since you never bother to read ANYTHING.
See that’s the thing, you’re thinking along the lines of a purist, there is no “One Way” to make a Halo game, that feeling you get when playing Halo games you enjoy isn’t always shared by everyone else, take me for instance, I hate Halo 3, not because it’s bad, but because it just lacks the variety that Reach, 4, and 5 have.
Like I said there is no one way or right way to make a Halo game, however that’s not to say you can’t screw it up, as I’ve seen plenty of people genuinely enjoy Reach, 4, and 5 without having to force themselves to like it, whereas Infinite from what I’ve seen, seems like players are suffering stolkhome syndrome.
-
Reach was still pretty much Halo because the armor abilities didn’t affect the game too much to the point it felt like a different game. The limitations of the abilities also made sure the core gameplay loop was persistent throughout the match
-
H4 is a pretty good game if you play equal starts Slayer without ordanance. It’s the loadouts and ordanance drops that killed it. The player population of the game explains it all. “Some people” may like it but the core audience that the game is catering to didn’t receive the game well. That’s facts.
-
H5 is a good MP experience, but in general the gameplay has mutated so much that it further alienated the core audience. Sure, it brought in new audiences, but they are way fewer than what the core audience is, and the conversion rate of core audience to the new Halo is not great in the least. The entire issue with H5 is not how it failed to sell, but how it failed to capture the potential maximum audiences. That in my eyes is already a failure in itself, because it’s just money not being earned. The campaign experience itself is also poor but that’s another story altogether.
The reason Infinite looks like stockholm syndrome to you is because alot of these players playing are people who enjoyed older Halo titles, and Infinite has FINALLY got the gameplay feel correct. They really want this to be a success but 343 is just failing at every aspect which makes a game playable in the first place. If it were me running 343, I would put in the decision immediately to try and retain the audience we’ve just recaptured in order solidify a new community made out of the old and the new. But instead they delayed content over and over, while getting an external company, a company with real experience with the franchise, to make something that the franchise is not.
I’m not against the Halo “BR” because I’m confident CA aren’t just gonna slap in a generic BR into Halo’s world, but this undoubtly alienates the core audience immediately after Infinite’s launch recaptured them again. It’s just amazing at this point how 343’s leadership isn’t all put to the axe given how much wasted potential and how they have just let the franchise devolve into a state where the entire community has to huff copium in order to keep a community going.
This BR isn’t even coming till Season 3 btw, and that’s more or less gonna mean end of this year, or next year. Or even worse : it’s coming in Season 4 and out on a streak of bad luck, there is a new gaming trend popping up, severely diminishing the interest in BRs in general, so Halo’s BR has to REALLY be something special or the top BRs on the market will just overshadow it completely.
There is 100% legitimate worry in 343 deciding to enter a trend LATE over pioneering or making a competitive option to a rising trend. That’s why I personally am banking on CA to make a revolutionary product. They need to, or it’s just more dead weight on a dying franchise.
Well i do agree what you are saying.
But i gotta point out that Titanfall’s MP died. They worked on a new mode that ended up as a standalone game called Apex Legends.
Apex Legends didnt start very great in the beginning…but now its one of the best games out there and people are very busy playing that game.
We yet know very little about the BR mode for Halo. But i really hope its a very solid mode and feel like Halo’ish.
If this mode gets huge success and can keep people busy long enough for 343i to pump out solid content for us
Halo never needed a BR. But since infinite lacked a crazy amount of content. It died quickly. So i feel any content is good now and i look at BR mode as a plus for new toys in Forge/ custom games to make.
This is the internet, where well thought out posts are broken down and shredded into out-of-context statements that are used as weapons against the poster.
Someone may agree with a post, in general, but if they disagree with any part of it, they will attempt to bicker because… internet?.. rather than have a meaningful discussion.
TLDR: never expect to find people being smart on the internet, but enjoy and recognize this rare occasion when it does happen.
See I think Halo 4 is good so long as you don’t use ordinance, and only use custom loadouts for specific modes, like a unique type of slayer or specific infection loadout. People hate on 4 just because of ordinance and loadouts yet overlook that most modes don’t have ordinance and most other modes have set loadouts not personal.
That’s where you are wrong, because the “important” modes are not what retains the bulk of the playerbase, it’s the socials which are populated by the majority of the audience. Socials are mostly Infinity settings which allowed you to set whatever loadout you wished. This is the main reason why the outcry and player drop for H4 was massive. This was in addition to a half-baked Forge which iirc wasn’t there on launch, mind you.
H4 maps were also pretty long-ish for no reason so every match ended up as BR trench warfare.
That’s true about TF2 and Apex but I feel that situation is still very different from Halo’s in a lot of ways. I want a Halo BR as well but I also want the arena to be successful. I think they are approqching it in the best way by outsourcing it to another studio.
You mean the hard working devs that have changed through each game? Bungie was the only 1 of the two who could keep employees 343 has hed leave after leave of head developers. So again you got some actual facts about the company to prove their good? They were given a big name game as a no name company they had never developed a game before never even so much as a flash game. Between the lack of stable employees and game making experience they were doomed taking over a game that defined an entire generation. They did not succeed as anything bungie launched was never this bad i gave these folks a chance 3 times they deserve nothing but criticism now the fan base that was is tired of their crap so much so that now the fanbase has incredible demands that we want them to meet. When basic becomes incredible or overbearing in the way they described it you know the devs are crap. I mean serioulsly base game concepts like coop campaign forge more than 3 maps in game modes more than 3 game modes. If what originally came with the game is too much work where a game company insults the entire community than whatbhope do they really have for improving this game. Whens it finnaly gunna be finished? Mcc came out with a bad launch took years to fix but by then it was too late heck its only relevent now as its finnally the best game they released. Everyone hoped for infinite but they let us down like ususal
Terrible wages for a terrible job seems fair to me though
I don’t have to answer to you about who I place my trust into. How about you let me handle the that responsibility myself? Huh? I’m not a child.
Mind your business. That comment was nothing and you turned it into something, like you usually do.
I am refusing to engage you any further.
