Well then, we don’t know as we don’t have the numbers. Steam population in MCC is better sure but the game was on top 10 on xbox for a long time after that, not to mention the waves of players playing on pc not from steam but xbox app when the campaign released, to use game pass.
I’m not sure where to begin with this total misinformed nonsense. For a start, what has his ban from Twitch got anything to do with his popularity when it was allegedly due to a breach of contract which no one knows the details about? Secondly, regardless of anyone else’s opinion of Dr Disrespect, he was one of the highest viewed streamers on Twitch and is now on YouTube so his popularity remains unquestioned. Thirdly, it’s quite apparent that we are getting a Halo BR whether we like it or not…and regardless of any streamers opinions, popular or not, on the matter.
He was clearly talking about Infinite’s success in streaming, I’m not sure why everyone thinks he was taking about Infinite’s success in general.
he was telling that he is a populer twitch streamer when he got prem banned from it and there not give you a prem bann for a weak reason so he most has done something good to get it in the first place same if he is populer at all that means he has done sometime good wrong to earning it at all.
still i not care if he is still populer on youtube its still and will always be a problem in general with populer streamers that give no crap about the normal players at all and wane chance the game only there can keep winning and hate to lose.
and if you wane know why i hate then its thanks to then in the Black ops 4 day’s from cod to destroy the game compleet for the normal players since there cant win the BR mode there at all at some point there cry like a baby from nerfs to let then win easy again.
i wane see this first from 343i that there not are listing to then at all since i have see in the past diffrend things and that was no fun at all.
Nonononono he didn’t “want” a BR. He said Halo was going to die in 1 month without a BR. While Halo did die out in around 3 months, it was not because of the lack of a BR, it’s cos 343 didn’t put content out or give us a finished game in the first place.
Had DD said “Halo could really use a BR to inject more players into the game” people wouldn’t have gone after him like they did.
Halo didn’t and doesn’t need a BR.
343 needed to make a game with a large amount of content. 343 needed to release a complete game. 343 needed to make a game full of customization. 343 needed to release a game with every playlist. 343 needed to release a game with more maps than what was available on launch.
343 didn’t. 343 still hasn’t. A BR isn’t going to fix what is currently broken.
Yes, and I still think we shouldn’t be pandering to flash in the pan content creators with no real investment or interest in the franchise, they just want clicks. No battle royale thanks, fix the game instead.
CA are leads on infinites BR.
Its not an attempt to “fix” its a project another team is working on. The “halo foesnt need a br” argument is stupid. Nothing need a br on even mp or campaign but each has a market and each can cater to a player base.
No I don’t remember that, all I remember is people bickering over whether Halo should have the game type or not… And no none of these streamers matter that much, they could stop streaming and nothing would change. If you are a fan and are entertained by a particular streamer then cool, but let’s not act as if the game or community hinges on what they say or do.
I do find it ironic. But Halo never need a BR mode.
Infinite lacked crazy much content to last.
Idc if Halo gets a BR mode…but i hope its a good one and made into halo’s image and not any copy paste crap
If battle royale gets added, I’m definitely uninstalling Infinite.
Why uninstall ? Just ignore the battle royale. I’ve never been a fan of koth or flag, I just don’t play them and stick to slayer. I don’t uninstall.
To illustrate how a BR would function in Infinite at this point in its lifespan.
Fixing a massive crack in the wall with duct tape.
If anything, I’m more annoyed that Halo is getting a Battle Royale. It’s just 343 chasing more trends.
They can’t make anything new or good to save their lives. When they do, if it’s not 100% accepted as is, they scrap it. It’s mind boggling.
343 trying to reinvent Halo so many times the “Halo” is more like, as Sgt Johnson says, a giant hula hoop now.
What’s so hard for 343 to just look at Halo 3, and literally lift the gameplay and concepts out of it and polish it up?
Yea you can have your new story and such headed by Joe Staten, but why can’t they just make a true continuation to Halo 3? They GOTTA make changes for changes sake apparently.
Because asking that is literally what the Halo community constantly called the CoD developers out for doing, releasing the same game with minor adjustments. In all honesty, I NEVER want to see another Halo title that plays like H3 ever again. After Reach and 4 I found Halo 3 to be too slow, too boring, and too restrictive in gameplay style options.
Would just like to say there is a difference between “attacking” and “criticising”. I didn’t see any creators that were attacking him. The use of the word “attack” in the place of the word “criticise” has been a great tool to further divide people when discussing these kinds of topics.
I disagree with what the Doc said about Infinite needing a BR, and if Infinite had been handled better it wouldn’t be in a situation where a BR might (heavy emphasis on “might”) actually save it. Short term I think it’s a lot of work to make the Halo gameplay loop fit in with the BR gameplay loop and long term I don’t see how it’s a good thing for Halo Infinite or the future of the Halo franchise. You gotta respect your core audience first and then think about the broader audience; Elden Ring is a great example.
However, I do stand with your closing paragraph; I wouldn’t mind a BR if it were to bring back revenue and help 343 “save” Infinite.
BR wouldn’t have saved infinite. at best it would have kept the interest of streamers and BR players a bit until they would have gone back to their usual BR game. the only way it may have helped infinite is, by being something new and unique. and judging by the rest of the game, halos BR would have just been the same as every other BR and wouldn’t have kept the BR players (looking at firestorm)
what was missing from infinite for it being successful is: meaningful content. a lot of it. on par with previous halo releases. a good, completed, whole experience.
That’s a fair argument but why didn’t they just try and revert the changes made to the sandbox and the game in 4 when it came to Halo 5? In fact when it came to Halo 5, the changes got even worse. It played nothing like a Halo game half the time.
Infinite at least has people reassured that 343 is learning how Halo works and feels and pushes a little speed and mobility in without disrupting the core gameplay feel. But if it takes 2 failed titles to make a slight progress, honestly 343 should be dissolved and the game handed off to another studio, like CA.
People didn’t think that there would be content issues amongst other things
