FTP games need to upkeep their game more though? Paid games get paid when a gamer buys it. FTP needs an active playerbase to consume DLC, Microtransactions, etc. to get any money.
Well, it wasnt for me. The FTP has been way better for me, we all have different experiences.
Agreed, a BR won’t save Infinite, if anything it will stagnate the game further. People do NOT want a BR, at least not until Infinite is completely stabilized, optimized, has ALL previous modes added, and fines tunes the store front to make it LESS of a cash grab.
My lack of respect for the Doctor has nothing to do with his opinion on BR.
I’m just too old for that schtick.
and not forgot that halo got there own game type versions also.
halo has Firefight what is good populier in the halo community.
and halo 5 warzone version was also not bad at all and was doing also good only the REQ system was a problem but the other things have done good.
for you maybe but not for the game.
look halo 4 and halo 5 are both not the populier halo titels but have still done better then halo infinite multiplayer with the playerbase.
so paying for the multiplayer is something that is doing better then F2P we have see now.
How though? Halo 4 fell off really quickly. Halo 5 was hated by the community. Is there a source comparing these games?
lets see.
both halo 4 and halo 5 you have quick a lobby full to start a match in.
we see in halo infinite players need to wait long to enter a match more.
both halo 4 and halo 5 got a lot off playlist’s players can play from.
more maps in both halo 4 and halo 5.
no big problems halo 4 and halo 5 got like with the servers.
better gearing system halo 4 and halo 5 have.
and i can keep on with the list more with exemple’s why halo 4 and halo 5 have done it better then halo infinite.
and most off all halo 4 and halo 5 have keep there playerbase and not lose there playerbase fast like in halo infinite.
-
Same in Infinite, where are the numbers?
-
Not for me, where are the numbers?
-
Infinite also has a good amount of playlists, irrelevant to my initial question.
-
Expected as they are games that have years worth of content added after, irrelevant to question.
-
4 and 5 got a lot of major problems, they were crapped on by the community more than infinite, irrelevant to question.
-
gearing?
-
Where are the numbers? What’s your source? Cause for what I know Halo 4 lost its playerbase insanely fast and Halo 5 only had a minor persistent fanbase, but was hated by majority. But those aren’t facts. Those are what I think from what I have seen. I want to know a source from you to support your claims.
Battle royals are where popular games go to die a battle royal mode being advertised is like cod advertising riley the dog in ghosts as the new advanced feature of the future. Its a safe option but in the end you will fall out of relevence eventually. Like lets be fair here when fortnite and player unknown dropped battle royals were new exciting material from the average cod, halo, or gears when it came to shooting something. Now everyone has a battle royal of some kind or another the more popular it is the more likely it has a battle royal. Ya know what game didnt need a battle royal or microtransactions or even dlc to be successful on launch. Freaking elden ring. Heck the game barely has a pvp aspect yet a constant lfg of 600 or more. I can check fornite and it has roughly that many, warzone has about half probably less, and than halo devs still refuse to release player counts to the public but steam shows mcc a game thats almost 10 years older has a higher playerbase on a daily than infinite which is sitting under 5k players on steam. Those are sad numbers but i would assume xbox is far less than even steam with an average of 50 lfg posts at any given time. The take away is a battle royal doesnt mean a great game honestly if they add a br at this point with the lack of content, customization, and replayability a battle royal would just add more issues like rampant cheating, qa testers missing massive bugs that may end up breaking other aspects of the game and many other forms of collision including but not limited to their game and its engine no longer workingnin synchronization.
1: i not know since i not keep track on then at all since i not care at all what the nummbers are.
but if you see on facebook a post from IGN or so about halo infinite playerbase that its lower then MCC then its telling all much more its worse.
3: where is infection then? where is grifball? i think there is no team slayer playlist at all.
where is Shotty Snipers then?
5: it was not major problems for a lot off players at all since for me i see then not at all as major problems at all since it was for me more a better halo game more and fun to play.
6: gearing was much better in halo 4 since you can mix you spartan with diffrend armor sets like: perfect body, fotus helm, Mark 4 leg’s and raider shoulder pads.
since there was also a lot off armors you can pick on like we see in halo infinite is almost notting at all to pick from.
and halo 5 got a lot off more armors also to pick from sure the system was not better then from halo 4 but its still a lot off armors you can get at the start.
7: and for the numbers i not need to give you anything since if you have play both halo 4 and halo 5 then you know how quick you can play a match and have less to wait before you can play.
if you not have play it at all then you not can know it its only for the once’s that have play halo 4 and halo 5 that know how quicker it was then now in halo infinite.
Infinite doesn’t need a BR to be good, the game has other issues that must be dealt with which is why people have been leaving.
- Desync
- Cheaters
- Crossplay
- Network issues
- Lack of content with like 5 - 7 gamemodes for only 3 maps in btb and 5-7 maps in 4v4
and many more problems that would make this post really long.
The netcode is a mess, imagine the battle royale being out with its current messy netcode yeah thats not bringing a lot of people back and the main focus of infinite would be the battle royale where changes to it will most likely dictate changes to the arena side.
Halo started to fail because of lack of content and developers management not understanding the fundamentals of a live service game.
A Battle Royale is not the saving grace. The game can’t run Custom Games & Theater but for some reason you expect us to believe the game is failing because of no Battle Royale?
Docs take was garbage then and still doesnt hold up now.
Remember when humans werent fickle little herd creatures who’s whims ebb and flow with the mob?
Me either
Dr had a point
I really rather have BTB war thing going on with ships other than another boring BR and trying to be the last one alive.
I don’t understand the hate.
I’ve only played CoD Warzone but there’s just something really cool about the big player count and the huge explorable map. Not to mention the chaos of encounters. Every game can play out wildly differently. I am not very good at it TBH; but the appeal is easy to see. Especially compared to a 4v4 arena shooter.
Why would that be a bad thing in Halo?
If the intent is to copy CoD. Then it’s just going to run alongside the core multiplayer mode. They aren’t going to stop supporting the main multiplayer and really Forge/Infection/Co-Op isn’t really new content; they’re base features.
Well, I don’t trust them with this. And I usually pour all of my trust into 343.
At the very least wishful thinking. We’ll just have to see. The only thing I can really think of when I hear about BRs is basically abandonment.
I don’t think Infinite is even capable of having a BR without enormous lag. I mean all the info says 60-100 BOTS, since it can barely handle normal BTB. Idk about you, but I don’t really care to play Big Bot Battle. 100 human players might be kind of cool, like when 343 said they wanted to someday do 50v50 BTB in MCC, I’d be all for that, but 100 bots? Nah.
Bots are borderline worthless in Objective modes.
Bots would get eliminated immediately in a BR and are a waste of space.
They just jump and die, never getting any kills, never scoring points
Unless 343 is making some Super Spartan AI, 100 bots will suck
Also it sounds like desync hell
Anyone and I mean ANYONE who thinks that the reason Halo infinite isn’t doing well is because there is no battle royale is SUPER DELUSIONAL!! And needs to wake up!!
Halo Infinite has so many issues it’s ridiculous!! I’ve barely played it in the last month. My friends list have all but dropped the game. Just tired of the same constant issues that never get fixed and the little to none communication from them on so many things, it’s embarrassing. I don’t need to name all the issues, we all know. Not to mention so many of the terrible decisions they’ve made as well.
Before they add any kind of BR mode, they need to address the many, many issues and concerns that fans have. It’s so sad what Halo has become. I feel like this game is the next MCC where we have to wait 3 or 4 years after the launch of the game for it to actually be workable and good ![]()
So sad…
People who think games die off/ don’t do well because there’s no BR mode are fools.
Releasing games in poor states is what kills the game, not a lack of BR.
Elden Ring is a game where Devs should take notes from
Exactly this. Halo doesn’t need a BR. It needs the community to be back and involved with forge and community modes. The COMMUNITY is what made halo so amazing. Currently that community is being hung out to dry waiting for the tools. The gameplay is so darn solid that’s a non issue. We are all waiting for content (that’s normally what the community supplants) and that’s what’s holding us all up. If they wanna do a BR, sure that’s fine. But by no means is that the reason halo is in a rut. Granted I still play every day cause it’s amazzzzing.
Anyways…. Battle royale has nothing to do with anything.
