Remember the title is Guardians

Everyone is zoned in with the audio log, and the new trailers that they seem to forget that this is Halo 5: Guardians. I think we can either comes to 2 possibilities with the new information we have gathered:

A: The title indicated there is more than on “Guardian”, and that means both Locke, Master Chief, and the Arbiter could fit the title.

B: The damage to the city that was in the trailers could have been done by the Guardians. The Guardians, are clearly GUARDING something, and maybe we can brainstorm a little here, and find out what would be important to defend.

That, or they could be bringing back the Terminal multiplayer map from Halo 2. That way, we can be killed by The Guardians every time the train hits us.

**“You were killed by the Guardians”**Master Chief left the sandtrap multiplayer boundries and went rogue(hence why he is in an infinate desert in the e3 2013 trailer), the Guardians are trying to kill him so he can respawn in the map boundries. The guardians failed to return him to the spawn boundries, so the map created an even bigger guardian (the bird thing in the e3 2013 trailer) to kill him and spawn him back in the map.

Aren’t the war sphinx that were used by the Forerunners considered guardians?

They very well could be. What if they War Sphinx’s are following Master Chief now? I mean I don’t see a reason they would want to destroy him.

The game is halo 5: guardian, but what is a guardian? the basic definition is someone who watches or protects something.

as someone mentioned, being killed by map mechanics in halo games would have you register as “killed by the guardians.” lets ignore this. they are guarding the outside of the map in an amusing way without being a soft kill wall.

In the two new trailers, master chief and Locke can be both considered guardians. chief is referred to by Locke as a savior, someone almost messiah like that would protect humanity. while Locke is a guardian of what chief represents, not what he has become: someone who is willing to kill that very man who is the embodiment of this promise to protect that ideal. the destruction caused in the two trailers is likely created by Locke and his teammates fighting the master chief and who ever is allied with chief, be it blue team, gray team, or someone else. in the background of both trailers you can see infinity with fires trailing from it in the background. i do not know what caused that.

(the forerunner artifact in the teaser is likely not going to be in game. it’s a teaser after all. to grab attention. i’m not even sure what that thing is.)

it is doubtful the arbiter is considered a guardian. By the time the events in the game occur, arbiter isn’t even his title any more. he seems to be more of a guidepost for locke instead of an actual guardian.

Well I think they were controlled by the Didact. Actually I think the “spirit” that controls the Sphinx is his children.

I think the Master Chief is going to get more fire power in this game during the end. If the Didact survived from the Halo ring, I bet you some other forerunners also survived.

In one of the Halo 4 vidocs Kiki referred to both the Master Chief and Cortana as guardians. So…yeah. Foreshadow. Maybe.

And they were destroyed by Seekers.

Or maybe it has to with being Guardians of the Mantel. As for the destruction of the city, remember how the concept art shows a city in the middle of the desert? Add that to the H2A cutscene showing Locke and the Arbiter flying over to some place in the desert. Or how the forerunner device (possibly seeker?) in the Halo 5 trailer is in the desert. My theory is that…

The seeker was activated by Chief in the search for something and it just happens to kill everyone in the desert.

“Is this what you were looking for? Is everything you’ve done, everything you compromised, worth it?”

Does anyone feel that the Guardians could be guarding the Absolute Record?

Now we know Halsey has the Janus Key and is heading to the Absolute Record perhaps this could link in?

Also, if I remember correctly in a recent lore Q+A on the Cannon Fodder blog, didn’t one of the answers say the construct in the original Halo 5 E3 trailer was not a War Sphinx?

Yes just checked, the answer is:

No. But many players have already gazed into the eyes of one variant of War Sphinx while exploring Halseys Laboratory on Ivanoff Station.

I don’t think Humanity will be attaining the mantle as such, I think the title will relate to a select few of remarkable individuals whom will oversee the protection and prosperity of the Galaxy.

Because as it stands, Humanity is not fit to stand for the Galaxy right now, and I don’t think it will be anytime soon. It is corrupted at its very infrastructure, and there’s just too much bad blood between species right now, as we know, that is not something that will heal with time, and will likely end in war and eventual extinction.

It’ll take a lot more I believe, not just Humanities best, but also Sanghelios’ best, and maybe many more.

The time of the dignitary is over, this is the age of the Guardians.

I hate that train

Hahaha what if at the end of Halo 5, you see Master Chief get shot and is on his back facing death and it’s all emotional and sad and when he takes his last breath while the emotional music is playing, the camera panning out, it quickly cuts to the map Sandtrap and you see him spawn within the boundaries of the map. He then sighs deeply and says, “-Yoink!-.” Rolls credits

This. We need this map again.

Maybe we’ll be playing through the entire campaign with the flashing “RETURN TO THE BATTLEFIELD” error on our HUD.

I’m trying to spread my theory around guys. There is something called a Guardian Sentinel. It was a scrapped idea for Halo 3. There was going to be an extra mission that took place on the multiplayer map Guardian where half way through you would have a semi-boss battle with a Guardian. The concept ray’s size looks a lot like the bird thing from the first trailer and they actually resemble each other in some other features. They are located on the ark which also fits in with the theory John is there. They could be what kills you if you leave a map on MP and it’s also plausible that one could be guarding Mendicant Bias’s tomb, if anyone believes in that theory. It’s larger than a war sphinx and they are spread out around the ark. Look it up and tell me your thoughts. (And there you have the name Guardians.)

Maybe the Guardians is our next enemy? They are defending something very precious, and like 343 guilty spark we just blow it off.
