Remember the disappointment, and many posts about it being a let down on waypoint and reddit? I bring this up retrospectively. Hunt The Truth has turned out to be a success despite it’s slow growth.
I love Hunt The Truth, episodes 1-9 are great! voice acting is great, story is very well written. But I remember before anyone knew what Hunt The Truth would be, when it launched (with all the bullet trailer and countdown to hype), and people saw a 2 minute audio file, there was disappointment. And… I can’t blame them. I went back and listened to Episode 0 PRIMER of Hunt The Truth, and it is quite underwhelming. I would have never expected the series to evolve into the great podcast that it is now based on that one episode. But boy, was I wrong… we all were.
I think Hunt The Truth would have been better off ditching the Epidode 0 PRIMER, and jumped right into Episode 1 A HAIRLINE FRACTURE. The Episode 0 did more harm than it did good.
Regardless, I love Hunt The Truth so far, it reminds me of ODST Audio Logs. Theres somthing about podcasts, that when well done, makes them so enjoyable.
I just think it is interesting to see the fanbase do a 360 in perspective.

No surprise people were disappointed, everytime 343 breathes they get bashed for it. I’m glad they’re doing this, I’m really liking the episodes now
I for one, wasn’t disappointed when Hunt the Truth was announced. Yeah a trailer would have been nice but the prospect of a dark audio series was great I thought.

An honest answer, I’m sure many people are too embaressed to come forward. The fair amount of disappointing people didn’t just disappear into thin air.
some were, some were not.
Those who were disappointed probably don’t have the courage to come out and say it.
I’m neutral in the matter, I don’t blame people who were.
People weren’t disappointed because Hunt the Truth was an episodic, narrative driven podcast, they were disappointed because they were hoping for a campaign trailer or a development ViDoc. I got the sense that most were intrigued by Episode 00 and once it became clear how high quality HTT was going to be, everyone forgot about how they wanted a trailer and have largely been enjoying the series over the past 9-10 weeks.
There was also nothing wrong with Episode 00. It was an introduction, a prologue, if you will, and I figured everyone knew there was a lot more to come…
I’ll happily state that I was disappointed at first. What Hunt The Truth has become though has been nothing short of excellent. It just took a few weeks to build up at first and has made not getting a trailer that much better.

People who were disappointed with Episode 00, were the same people expecting a ViDoc or Trailer.

I’d take an ARG that spans twelve weeks over a trailer or ViDoc any day. And we got three trailers in the past month, two story, one for fun (I know, I know it was Gamestop but I’m speaking in general) so the hate quickly died down.
I was only disappointed at first because I was expecting a trailer. If I had been expecting an audio log, I’d have been in full hype mode. I didn’t like the first 3 or so episodes because they revealed nothing new. But I persevered, and it has certainly paid off. HuntTheTruth seems to be shaping the future of Halo.
I can happily say that disappointment never even crossed my mind, from start to present. Honestly I bet many who were disappointed never watched another episode and certainly they won’t care enough to post on these forums.
